In Besançon for the weekend we have spent a beautiful evening, the hotel is clean and new, everything is available to spend a pleasant moment (distributor, games of companies, etc...) A special mention for the reception, We haven't been welcomed in a hotel establishment for a long time.

A première vue, on sent que l'hôtel n'est pas de toute fraicheur et les équipements un peu vieillot (lavabo bois abimé voir photo), le sol fait un peu ”hôpital” et le couloir des escalier n'est vraiment pas accueillant. Mais la literie est propre et confortable. Les 2 personnes de l'accueil que j'ai vu étaient vraiment sympathique et l'hôtel a l'avantage d'etre à moins de 5 min à pied de l'hôpital. Le petit déjeuner était bien et la salle lumineuse.

GGuest UserPerfectly located to experience the beautiful city with our adult sons! The streets outside the hotel in the old part of the city were so pretty, and we easily hiked from the hotel to the citadel and all sights in-between. Restaurants were within steps, shopping was within steps. We had breakfast at the hotel one day then went to a French cafe the next. It’s also a walkable distance to/from the train station. Since we were there to explore the historical sites, we appreciated the history of the building we stayed in, too! The staff member who helped us was incredibly friendly and helpful. We were right above the square and, although a bit noisy in the late afternoon/evening, I personally enjoyed the energy of people having a good time. Again-authentic experience! We would definitely stay here again.

GGuest UserI stayed here for 4 nights during the heatwave! Fortunately the air conditioning was very good. Usual Ibis room, comfy bed decent bathroom with good shower. Hotel is only a few yards from the bus and tram stop and the tram goes to the railway station which is better than the 20 minute uphill walk! Hotel is only a short walk from the main square, shopping streets, restaurant area and the river. Buffet breakfast was a good start to the day and all the staff were helpful and friendly. My first stay in Besançon and I'd gladly stay here again.

GGuest UserThe Hotel de Paris was the perfect location from which to explore Bésançon for a few days. Comfortable rooms, friendly service, and a great breakfast buffet made this hotel the perfect launching point for our time in Bésançon. Definitely recommend!

GGuest UserThis property has everything one needs for a short stay. The interior is very cosy and homy. Room was well equipped and bathroom was brand new. Bed was very comfortable too. We've had a nice rest at night. Everything is very clean and well thought through. Breakfast was delivered to our room on time and in an organised manner. Pierre and Klervie at the reception were brilliant and went out of their way to help us with everything we needed. They have even helped to carry our bags to the room (we were moving and the car was full of bags that needed to be transported into the room). This was very sweet and kind of them. Furthermore, they were very polite and friendly. Excellent job. Excellent reception and first impression of the hotel. Management is lucky to have both of them. I've stayed in many hotels and this is not something normal to happen even in high-end properties. There is no restaurant in the hotel, but many nice places around. Easy to find something to eat. Highly recommend.

GGuest UserDespite the very central location relatively quiet (good windows), everything very clean, rooms simply but sufficient and with small kitchenette, fair price for the garage - you can remember! However, it is essential that guests (also) have to empty the waste label in the bathroom - especially as it is noted anywhere. The relevant notice refers only to the kitchen part.

We’ve been using Campaniles in France for around 30 years. Sadly they have been steadily declining in recent times despite some refurbishment. The woman running the hotel on the Saturday evening along with the chef was the only good thing. She was completely charming and was very helpful. The room reeked of smoke and was cold as the heating didn’t work properly, despite her best attempts, so she gave us a heater, which did work well. The furnishings were a mixture of original Campanile brown green and a partially refurbished bathroom which was in disgusting condition. Brown toilet, heater dripping with filth etc etc. On arrival in the restaurant we were 10 mins early at 18:50 and she informed us we were too early but we explained we just wanted a drink to start with, which she duly served. By the time we eventually left the restaurant at just before 21:00, we were the only two customers they had had all evening! Hence no buffet, just an extremely limited menu of food which was served not entirely heated through. Do yourself a favour and find another brand of hotel, as we will next time. It’s very sad as we really enjoyed the simple convenience of Campaniles but they seem to be being run down and abandoned as a brand.
