Overall was a good one night stay. But £140 for a double room with a bed you could feel the springs and small very dated room and tiny bathroom I feel was overpriced but I guess it’s the area. The friendliness of the staff made up for the disappointment in the room. Good breakfast.

Thank you to Anna and Jess for the amazing customer experience they gave me on my visit to the Holy Island on Monday this week . Having completed the pilgrim 3 mile walk over the sands, visited all the spiritual locations and there are many! I ventured into the Manor House between tide times . Pretty exhausted by now they were so lovely helpful old fashioned hospitality famous in these parts . So thank you for everything you did and topped off my incredible journey - and I got a lift start of the causeway back to my Airbnb to Lowick house which was superb 👌 ❤️

A fine finish to our St Cuthbert's Way walk. Even though we were ahead of check in and filming was going on in the hotel area, we were allowed to leave our bags safely. We ate our evening meal and breakfast here and both were fine. The staff were helpful throughout and the room was a good size and the facilities good. A touch expensive on pricing for the room and the only small negative was the lack of decent soap/shower options in the bathroom - all other places stayed at en-route offered this option.

We went for lunch here on April 17. It was quite busy but only had two staff working at the bar and delivering food orders. One was very pleasant and helpful. The other needs to consider whether hospitality is really her thing and learn how to say “please” and “thank you”. We ordered a crab sandwich and a sausage sandwich. They took the best part of 45 minutes to arrive and were basically flung at us by the less obliging of the two bar staff. The sausage sandwich was dry and bland with virtually no red onion marmalade dressing. The crab sandwich seemed fine, albeit overpriced, but went on to give me food poisoning. Save your money and go somewhere the staff at least pretend to be welcoming.

I visited Holy Island as a student 40 years ago for the day. I had always wanted to stay overnight and experience the island when the day trippers had gone and the island was quiet and cut off by the tide. The Manor House Hotel was perfect. It is ideally located close to the Priory and with amazing views from the front bedrooms towards the castle. The staff were very friendly and the rooms were spotless. Breakfast was very well organised and included a Full English as well as Continental choices. An ideal location to stay on the island.

Fantastic experience from the pillows to the restaurant. Staff fabulous. Couldn't do enough to be helpful. Restaurant and bar good. One member of staff took me over the Causeway as the buses were unreliable. Wonderful room. Spotless. Will be back

Such a disappointing experience. We were on the island for a day trip. It was a beautiful day and we enjoyed exploring around the Priory and lookout. Before going to the castle we decided to have some lunch and unfortunately chose this place. It was around 1150 when we entered the hotel, knowing the lunches started at 1200. We were the only customers at the bar and were kept waiting by the female and only member of bar staff who was apparently engaged on something just around the corner from where we could see although she saw we were waiting. Eventually she attended to us and said the lunches didn’t start until 12 noon. I asked for a menu only to be told she would put the menus out shortly. By this time it was about 1255!! However we managed to suggest we should be able to obtain menus and we sat at a table outside. At 1200 on going to the bar to order our food, there was a small queue of people. There was the same surly single female behind the bar taking food and drink orders and making coffees. I don’t know her name but she had blonde hair, you know who you are! Eventually I ordered our lunch which came a short time later. The soup, although overpriced, was quite tasty, the crab sandwich’s were awful. There was too much bread, it should be “open” sandwiches and the crabmeat was far too salty. A small side of pathetic “salad” and some coleslaw did NOT justify the price of £14.95 per portion???!!! If you want crab don’t come here. Go to the little wooden hut outside the craft shop and mead outlet near the Priory, around half the price and much more pleasant staff. The customer service in this hotel was appalling. We felt a nuisance and unwelcome. The clue is in the name, I.e HODPITALITY!! Certainly not received at this establishment. Strongly suggest urgent staff training or the sack. Don’t waste your money coming here, neither the service nor the food are worth the price. Shame as the location is nice.

The Manor House is a lovely place for lunch and/or dinner if you're on Lindesfarne. We hadn't been for over a year or so, but the food has improved immensely since then. A special call out for Ashleigh, Sarah and Jess ('The Dream Team') who were so friendly and helpful, and who made us laugh a lot with their 'non-ham' cheese sanwiches while we booked our next holiday. Can't wait to return. Brilliant place.
