Hotel Castell am Kurfürstendamm

The elevator is very old and needs to be closed manually. The location is good, next to the luxury street. The room is not small.

Great stay in a beautiful city with nice weather and atmosphere....

I think those who gave a good review were not "lucky" to stay in the same room as me, fortunately. I believe that in 2022 it is unthinkable that a hotel located in this area still has rooms with a toilet (in miniature size) outside the room itself, to be used, as needed, with the occupants of another room. In fact, room 101 and room 102 have only one toilet to share, outside the room, where the occupants of the other rooms pass through. A shower and a sink, in the room, in small dimensions. Strictly German breakfast with a savory base, which could also be fine if you like that type of breakfast. For the rest, I'm not saying I have various types of croissants or espresso or cappuccino, but at least a fruit tart or a strudel to satisfy even those who aren't fond of savory foods. Or for those who don't like eating bread with butter and jam. Let's say, having a wider choice. Wir haben eine kleine Geschäftsreise privat velängert und hatten 3 Nächte gebucht. Das Zimmer im 3. OG war ausreichend groß, etwas wahllos und stilfrei eingerichtet, aber alles sauber, auch das Bad. Die Lage ist unschlagbar und der Preis ebenfalls. Der Empfang war weder nett noch unfreundlich. Was wir definitiv vermisst haben ist eine Garderbe (Platz ist ausreichend vorhanden) und eine Möglichkeit, ein Handtuch am Waschbecken aufzuhängen. Die Kissen sinken ein, bei einer längeren Aufenthalt hätten wir nach zusätzlichen Kissen gefragt und die Tagesdecke war sehr abgenutzt und dünn. Also weder schön, noch Funktion. Trotzdem werden wir das Hotel wieder buchen, denn die Vorteile überwiegen. Früstück haben wir nicht gebucht, da wir immer unterwegs waren und draußen gegessen haben. Am letzten Tag morgens war ich im Bad und mein Mann noch im Bett, als trotz Schild "bitte nicht stören" die Zimmertür geöffnet wurde. Fanden wir unangenehm, kann aber passieren.
