Atlantic Hotel

I was here for a seminar and it was ok. The air conditioning wasn’t very cool but it was an extremely hot day. The bathroom could use some work. The one on the main floor. The food was excellent. The filet was very tasty and I could cut it with a fork.

Historic hotel with character and a helpful, friendly staff. It feels a bit like time traveling to stay here. The good: an authentic experience. The not great: all that comes with an old property, such as a musty carpet smell and furniture that is well used. If you enjoy historic properties like I do, you will find it charming. The location is terrific for visiting Berlin, Assateague, and Ocean City.

The word "Charming" is not enough to do justice the The Atlantic. From the warm welcome at the front desk, to the tastefully decorated room (no one went overboard with antiques that just get in the way), to the comfortable bed, plentiful drawers, large bathroom, and great location in this surprisingly quaint town, we had an amazing experience. The restaurant is worth a visit. But what made me determined to share this lovely place was after one of my very expensive electronics fell on the floor, the housekeeping staff found it, called me, and mailed it within 24 hours. This place is HIGHLY recommended!

Perfectly charming historic hotel in the middle of Berlin, MD. A memorable experience during the Christmas season. Sit in your rocking chair on the hotel veranda ( electric blanket furnished), and view the magical Christmas decorations while watch ing smiling faces pass by. The hotel staff couldn’t have been nicer. A wonderful slice of Americana on the Eastern Shore.

Outstanding Lunch, Fish and Chips and Islander Club. Staff very attentive and food was fantastic, my club was HUGE. Had a good time just people watching from our outdoor seating. Berlin is a great shopping stop near OCMD.

Good restaurant with good service. Portions were large so you can split them with others. Good food and good service. The dinning room has a singer which can be very loud, but the porch is a good place to eat.

From the outside, it’s a warm, welcoming, historic hotel. Inside, it’s rustic without trying to be pretentious. The rooms are very small and the bathrooms haven’t been updated in years. There are many positives about this hotel, but overall I was not impressed when I compared to other hotels of its type.

Let me start by saying that overall we really loved the Atlantic Hotel. It's in a great location, right in the center of downtown. Perfect for walking around etc. That said, there were a few things... We were in the Anna Suite (Rm. 28). It's on the third floor. The room itself is spacious. Has a full kitchen...like 4 burner stovetop and oven, dishwasher, full size fridge. You get the picture. And it was placed between the living room and the bedroom, making for good separation between the 2. This was a girl's weekend and my girlfriend slept on the queen sleeper sofa, which according to her is very uncomfortable. It is just a very thin mattress. I sat on it and you really could feel every spring. Be warned. The only bathroom is in the bedroom. There are 2 TVs, living room and bedroom. They are smart TVs with streaming which was a pleasant surprise. The carpet in the living room had crumbs on it that I saw as soon as I walked in. We asked the front desk to please have someone vacuum as we were heading out to walk around. I guess we expected them to do it right away but when we came back it wasn't done. In the grand scheme of things, not that big a deal. Just a little annoying. Honestly if there was a vacuum in the room I would've done it myself and not said anything. Another thing and this pertains to the hotel restaurant. We went to the bar twice for drinks. No issue whatsoever. But, on our last nite we decided to eat dinner in the restaurant. We were taken to a table right away. But then we sat at that table with not a single person approaching to say someone will be right with you, etc. Nothing. We were essentially ignored. And it wasn't that there weren't servers and runners milling about because there was. It was like we were invisible. So after about 8-10 minutes we got up and left and ate at Boxcar on Main which was great. It was stuff like that. Just little things but I wanted to point them out. Should this deter you from staying at the Atlantic Hotel?...absolutely not. I simply wanted to point them out. To me it is the only place to stay in Berlin if you're spending the nite and I'd stay there again.

We stopped for lunch at the Atlantic Hotel in Berlin, MD. We were seated outside on a screened in porch. It seems like a traditional sport where there are a lot of returning diners. My wife ordered the "Fancy Chicken Salad" sandwich. It was served with dried fruits, pine nuts and capers on bread. She enjoyed it very much. I had the salmon BLT on a ciabatta roll. It included applewood bacon, pesto mayo, roasted red pepper, lettuce and tomato. It was very good. We recommend the Atlantic Hotel as a great spot to relax and enjoy the friendly atmosphere of Berlin.
