We've just spent a weekend at The Cavern as a family, the youngest member being five months, and the oldest being seventy years old. All eleven of us had the most marvelous time in the beautiful surroundings with comfy rooms, friendly staff and delicious meals. It's a pleasant journey from Johanneburg and KZN so you arrive just in time for a scrumptious lunch. Kids under seven are catered for in the kids' dining room with friendly staff taking care of them at every meal an absolute bonus for the parents who are able to enjoy their meals. .There are so many nooks and crannies in the rambling hotel, it's an absolute delight. You're able to walk out of the grounds and start hiking without having to drive. It's an absolute must for birders too, we saw many species.

Our second visit to the Cavern was just as good as the first last year. Beautiful scenery, great service and food, and a lovely relaxed ambiance. The rooms and bathrooms are clean and modern. I found I had WiFi in my room, in all the main areas and even by the pool unlike a previous review. Only minor gripe was I found the chairs on our patio uncomfortable for sitting reading. Apart from walking, I used the spa, went for a helicopter ride, and watched us lose to the springboks before heading back to the UK.

My third visit to the Cavern and as always, most enjoyable stay. Just to short! Resort location, facilities, staff and service is exemplary. One negative, no internet / Wi-Fi in the rooms.!! Very inconvenient for a site this large to have run down to main building to receive and send messages.

A relaxing break in an exceptionally beautiful area made superb by the comfortable facilities and very helpful and friendly staff. The food is very good, overall a most enjoyable stay.

A lovely place to stay for some great walking. It's in a great location and walks directly from the resort are plentiful and excellent. They provide two guided walks a day one easy /moderate and one hard. The staff are lovely, the food is good to excellent - it is a family owner and run place with great value. It has many other great facilities - tennis courts, bowls, croquet, a spa facilities on site. We stayed 4 days and in spite of poor weather for the first two days we still got out and thoroughly enjoyed our time there.
