Das Hotel liegt im Norden von Bergneustadt und macht einen recht modernen Eindruck. Es liegt an einer vielbefahrenen Strasse, die meisten Zimmer haben eine "ruhige Lage". Das Zimmer und Bad waren geräumig und machten einen sehr ordentlichen Eindruck. Der Pool und Sauna sind in einem modernen und sauberen Zustand mit Ausblick in die Berge (Pool), Ruhebereiche und Umkleiden mit Spind vorhanden. Das Frühstück war vielfältig und gut (keine Aufbackbrötchen :-)). Auch die Abendmenüs im Restaurant sind zu empfehlen. Der WLAN-Empfang war gut. Ein kleiner Fahrradraum ist vorhanden, hier passen allerdings nicht mehr als 4-5 Räder hinein. Parkplätze sind reichlich vorhanden und kostenlos. Wir werden sicherlich nochmal dort übernachten.

Der Aufenthalt im Phönix-Hotel - übrigens ein früheres Feuerwehrerholungsheim, das immer noch von vielen Feuerwehren als Tagungszentrum genutzt wird. Die 4 Sterne sind m.E. gerechtfertigt. Gute Arrangements mit vielen inkludierten Extras. Ordentliche Zimmer mit Bademantel und Extrabadetuch. Freundliches und nettes Personal. Schöner Wellnessbereich. Hier zwei Kritikpunkte: das Dampfbad war out of order und die finnische Sauna brauchte lange bis sie die Temperatur erreichte. Das Buffet beim Abendessen und Frühstück war reichhaltig, auf Nachfrage wurden auch Sonderwünsche (Spiegelei) erfüllt. Manchmal waren Dinge aus und man musste das Nachlegen anfragen. Die Weinkarte hatte den Vorteil, dass es jeden Wein als Glas, Karaffe und Flasche gab - das ist selten der Fall. Ein paar nette Features wie der "Beach" mit Strandstühlen konnte jahreszeitbedingt nicht genutzt werden.
