The location is super. The staff is very friendly. The building has lots of character but needs more TLC. The view of the sea from our room and the breakfast area is very nice. Temperature control in the room is a bit complex, through radiator valves. There are infrared panels but not sure how to control those. All in all a 3.5 out of 5 experience.

Leuke ervaring! Bijzondere locatie en verblijf in de duinen bij Bergen aan zee. Van oorsprong oude villa Amsterdamse school, 1920)aangepast tot kleinschalig hotel boven op de Russische duinen met mooi uitzicht op de zee! Vriendelijk ontvangst bij receptie; kamers basic, maar schoon met prima bedden. Leuke ontbijt ruimte ( met van 8.30-10 beetje late start) met mogelijkheid buiten terras. Ontbijt is prima. Fiets huur mogelijk, prima fietsen. Je wandelt vanaf hotel via bos pad in 10 minuten naar strand noord. Leuke , rustige sfeer voor wie eens iets anders wil dan doorsnee hotel!

Nadat we de geschiedenis van deze oude Villa hadden gelezen op de parkeerplaats, vonden we het heel bijzonder om hier te overnachten. Mijn vriendin had me namelijk verast, dus ik wist van te voren niet waar we heen gingen. Ze had online aangegeven bij de eigenaars, dat het een late Valentijns verassing was en of ze misschien hier iets mee konden doen. Bij binnenkomst lagen er hartjes op bed en op tafel met een flesje wijn. Ook een slinger met hartjes om de spiegel in de badkamer, super attent en lief van ze om deze kleine extra moeite te nemen. Dat geeft je als gast meteen een heel goed gevoel. Het staat boven op een duin met een prachtig uitzicht over de Noordzee. Het monumentale gebouw heeft nog oude hard eikenhouten vloeren en ruikt nog heerlijk naar vroeger. Net het idee in je achterhoofd dat dit een Villa van een steenrijke familie is geweest, weet en merk je dat dit pand echt karakter heeft. Ik voel me direct veel meer thuis dan in een enorm modern Hotel 🏨, waar ik meer het idee heb een nummertje te zijn dan een gast. Kortom een aanrader voor iedereen die hier van houdt.
