Really disappointed by this and I never leave bad reviews. I had been driving for 11 hours with three kids, mostly in the rain and in the dark. I made an accident by booking this hotel, thinking it was 30 minutes in front of us, and after booking I put the address into google maps, and it turns out it was an hour behind us. I immediately attempted to call ******* to try to cancel my reservation. After being unable to reach ******* for 10 minutes, I called the hotel. Their local number went to a call center, not the actual hotel. I explained the situation and after almost 30 minutes of them trying to figure it out, they determined they could not give me a refund and I’d have to go through *******, but was told that if ******* put in the request for a refund, it should be no problem. After another 20 minutes of trying, I finally reached *******, who contacted the hotel and I was told I’d have to wait for a manager to approve or decline my refund request. The next day I learned that it was declined. Now, this was my error, not their’s. However, I called immediately after making my mistake and notified them that I wouldn’t be coming, and they very easily could have chosen to refund the money. I booked the right Holiday Inn Express, that I originally intended to book and stayed there, but I wasn’t going to drive an hour backwards in the rain, just to add an additional hour to my drive the next morning. I get that it was my fault, but it’s not like they lost a sale to someone else.
