Alpenhotel Denninglehen

We chose the hotel based on its many good reviews and were particularly looking for a hotel with a dedicated restaurant, as we wanted flexibility with dinner options. Unfortunately, we were massively disappointed. But first, the positives. The rooms are clean and functionally furnished, and the view is magnificent. The staff is very friendly. The negatives began as soon as we entered the hotel. The foyer smelled very unpleasantly of old frying oil, like a snack bar. Our first dinner was also very disappointing. The original Wiener Schnitzel was by far the worst I've ever eaten. The poor veal was fried in cheap oil or a deep fryer, the fries were drenched in oil and tasted like the cheapest frozen food. Now we knew where the greasy smell in the hotel was coming from. The salmon we also ordered was overcooked and dry, and the sauce was also cheaply packaged. However, the prices were on the high side. The next morning, we looked forward to the advertised "rich" breakfast. Well, the selection was pretty modest. The breakfast egg was nice and soft, but ice-cold and inedible. When I asked, I was told the eggs were boiled at 6 a.m. and then left in a basket until 8 or 9 a.m. The scrambled eggs I ordered instead had no flavor at all, except for the taste of cheap oil. As mentioned above, the room was functionally furnished, but the seating on the balcony was unacceptable. Old, dingy, and broken garden chairs. Unfortunately, the magnificent location is ruined by the disgusting smell of grease that permeates the hotel all day. You have to eat outside, and relaxing on the balcony isn't possible at the end of the day. It's a shame.

We were only there for dinner. First, for the meal. Standard but good, nothing special. Quite expensive for the quality. Inflexible, as you have to pre-order even as a hotel guest. The staff... I don't know what to say. Unprofessional and inhospitable, to sum it up. Our food was cleared away from us almost three times. That's absolutely unacceptable. Never again.

Wir kommen seit Jahren in dieses wunderbare familienbetrieben Haus und wurden nie enttäuscht. Die Zimmer sind sauber und zweckmäßig schön eingerichtet. Der Wellnessbereich mit großem Schwimmbad, Ruhebereich und Sauna lässt keine Wünsche offen. Der absolute Vorteil dieses Hauses sind allerdings der wunderbare Blick ins Tal und der nicht zu überbietende Service, den die Gastgeberin und die Mitarbeiter anbieten - immer unaufdringlich freundlich und hilfsbereit. Wenn man mag, kann man abends auf der Terrasse mit wunderbarem Blick sehr gut essen - der Chef des Hauses kocht sehr gut. Und das Frühstück erfüllt auch all unsere Wünsche. Wir kommen wieder und freuen uns auf eine entspannte Zeit im Haus Denninglehen.

Das Hotel liegt sehr schön oberhalb von Berchtesgaden mit einer tollen Aussicht aus die Berge. Die Zimmer sind sauber und standardmäßig eingerichtet. Der Fernseher hat nur wenige SD Programme. Das Frühstück ist mittelmäßig und man hat nur von 8-10 Uhr Zeit es einzunehmen. Die Küche hat für Abends wenig Auswahl, die auch nicht variiert. Das Personal ist immer freundlich.
