This is a family run hotel and for once really is family run. Such a warm welcome and stay. Was there as part of a small group tour. This place is very much in the Albanian style so the character is great. No lift but they take your cases to the room so there is no problem. There is a lovely lounge/bar where you can relax. Rooms are very well appointed as are the shower/bathroom. Breakfast was a treat with eggs cooked to order and the dining room catches the sun and has lovely view. The Hotel is situated right by the town up a street so with 2 mins walking distance to everything. There is also a mini market right opposite if you need anything.

We spent just one night in this hotel but it’s a very nice place. The rooms are quite spacious and the bathroom is very nice. The rooms have air conditioning which is very good when it’s hot outside. Our room was with a little and cute terrace. The breakfast is varied with salted and sweet things to eat. The room is very quiet even if the street is very close. I recommend it to you.

We drove here from Macedonia (Ohrid) and fell in love with this hotel straight away! Staff were amazing from the moment we parked outside and throughout our entire 2-night stay. Our room was gorgeous — airy, bright, and with a little courtyard. Very clean room, but some small ants got in. Amazing shower and bathroom! And so much fun décor throughout the hotel. Loved it! Note there was only one trash can in the entire room – it could definitely do with a second. Our room was also right next door to an outdoor, open square with a loud DJ on both nights, but we still slept like babies! Amazing view from the breakfast area – and oh, the breakfast spread was impressive too, with both hot and cold dishes and more wonderful, helpful staff. Note there are no currency exchange offices open on Sundays, so make sure you plan in advance if you need cash (which is preferred at most places in town).

Amazing stay at mangalemi hotel. The staff are incredibly nice, always smiling and always ready to help you. They all speak great english, we felt very welcomed. They eveb helped us parled the car everytime we left or arrived. The hotel is really beautiful and is really unique and traditional. The rooms were cleaned and as shown on the website. The breakfast included is very generous and good. The location was perfect, really close to the castle and close to the center. Definitely recommend!

What a sweet place. So pretty and atmospheric. Good position up a small slope and lovely views of the town from the breakfast room. Cup of Raki on arrival was a nice touch. Really friendly staff and good bar. There is no restaurant but there are plenty of places to eat nearby. My room was clean and gorgeous with its own little courtyard. Delightful place.

Our group was welcomed into this beautiful old hotel, right in the middle of town, with a glass of raki. This warm welcome was typical of the friendly service received throughout our stay. The decor is historic and very atmospheric, and the hotel also has a collection of dogs and cats (if that's your thing!) I would certainly stay here again.

A charming family run hotel, well placed in the centre of delightful Berat. Good size room, comfortable beds, quiet location, good breakfast on a terrace with a good view. Very friendly staff, including the resident cat and dog. A very warm welcome.

The first hotel post communism in Berat. The rooms are slightly better than average. What makes the hotel is the dining. Dinner and breakfast was excellent from the delicious local specialties to the intoxicating beverages to the fair prices but most of all the attentive service. The location is central to all sights. Would I stay here again if in Berat? Yes, of course. Would I recommend it to others? Yes, of course
