The hotel is well-known, a little old, but the area and overall atmosphere are normal. The price/quality ratio is reasonable. An excellent restaurant overlooking the ocean and a very strange restaurant where breakfast and dinner are held (reviews on Google maps) confirm this. The beach is a little dirty, but this is not a problem of the hotel but of the local population in general.

Fabulous hotel with lovely staff. Pool and beach were both amazing. Really enjoyed our stay and we were made to feel very welcome. Really great restaurants within walking distance just outside the hotel gates. Lovely to walk along the beach in either direction

Very good property with excellent veiw.. Amazing food by chef Dalip from nanital.. Great hospitality and indian food.. Direct beach access for in house guests.. Quick housekeeping at midnight.. Multiple options to explore in property.

We visited the Taj Bentota as a family of 4 for Christmas 2024. We had an absolutely brilliant holiday and cannot recommend a stay at the Taj highly enough. From our creative and superb room boy Milton, to the wonderfully friendly and efficient restaurant staff (particularly Dinesh) the service was impeccable but also personal. Particular praise for F&B manager Kosala who seemed to be in all food areas all of the time - yet always found a moment to greet and check in with us. Wonderful staff made this stay exceptional. We shall return!!

Taj Bentota - unforgettable experience.. From the moment you enter the resort it feels like a bliss. The view the service was excellent. Special mention about Chef Dalip Singh who kept our taste buds happy. My wife being a jain he kept atmost care about her requirements during breakfast and dinner. Very light hearted person. Also the housekeeping staff had done an excellent work in keeping the rooms clean throughout the day. Even after the cleaning was done in the morning, after returning from the beach the room was in mess was cleaned by them without even requesting when we were exploring the resort. Must stay at this place when in Bentota

Highly disappointed by the service. Front desk committed to give room in 30 mins, which they have given in 2 hours, when they were aware baby is with us and we could not go anywhere. In Room, there were spots on the sofa, table and dust on fan, They were so frustrated in giving milk for the baby. In room dining person just hung up call without listening. Food quality was not good.
