Avani Cancun Airport

Benito Juarez|0.9km from Zipline Xavage
From first glance the place looks nice and the rooms had very large incredibly comfortable bed, this is where the positive feedback ends unfortunately. Let me begin with the towels. After coming out of the shower I opened up what appeared to be a clean folded towel and low a behold a large brown skid mark or blood stain the size of an average sized forearm was on it. I complained at reception and asked for a new towel but nobody apologised or offered to take away the old towel from our room which seemed a bit odd. Secondly I was over charged on a taxi ride to town and discovered this after paying the driver cash and noticing the driver enter the hotel to hand over commission to the receptionist after they both thought I left in the lift to my room. After I got into the lift I immediately forgot to ask the receptionist for a plate and fork and witnessed this very popular “tourist taxi hustle” which I’ve had enough of duration my stay in Mexico. Secondly the hotel food was on the same par as economy class on board food 15 years ago. The rooms don’t have robes or slippers either and the floors are made of wood so the comfort level lacks a little bit for the price. The flies and mosquitoes were throughout the entire hotel and this began to be very annoying especially when trying to relax in any location throughout the hotel. The cleanliness of the place is below average and this is the finally key point for us. Luckily we only stayed for 2 nights due to Kiwi.com not paying Swiss International and we missed our flights. I high recommend not staying here especially if you’re a couple wanting a relaxing escape. It fitted the purpose for 2 nights only! I highly recommend anyone to go stay in Cozumel and hire an AirBnB. We stayed for 5 months and it’s worth every min. We still love Mexico.

This is a luxurious and private hotel. Highly recommended for those who want to enjoy a quiet staycation and relax. It feels like a lot of care was put into each and every object, starting from the marble floor. But as you know... food and drinks in the hotel are quite expensive. However, the quality of the free activities is much better than that of the Hilton right next door, so we recommend taking full advantage of the activities. In particular, yoga outdoors while watching the sunrise at 7 a.m. remains one of my best memories! Plus, the spa facilities and massages are of the highest quality, so I recommend you try them. There is a separate space and pool that only spa users can use, and it is really beautiful....

My family and I spent an amazing week at the Residence at Moon Palace Cancun, we are long time members of Palace Elite but first time staying at the Residence for a special occasion: celebrating our 40th wedding anniversary. The Residence has everything that you may wish for an unforgettable vacation, it housed all 10 of our family spaciously and confortable with 4 bedrooms, private swimming pool, pool and poker table, movie theater and not to mention a great day at a 64 foot yatch. We want to specially recognize the team who made our staying a memorable one: Thank you to our butlers: Randy and Oswaldo and his manager Erik, they anticipated and covered all our needs giving every day an extra mile. Thanks to the team that takes care of the whole residence specially to Carlos. We were delighted with the private wine tasting experience where sommelier Andres did a fantastic job. As well, another memorable experience was the private dinner where the Chef indulged us with delicious dishes. At Casa Mia, her manager Angelica and Chef Diego prepared for us a wonderful welcome dinner experience. At Caribeno, her manager Carolina and the Chef pamper us during lunch times. At Trattoria, her manager and the Chef prepared a very special dinner for our group. Also, Chef Rafael Calvo continued providing us with memorable experiences through out the years.

Every time I look back on my holi, I think of the hotel and how much I enjoyed staying here, & that I’m so glad we did as at first we weren’t sure as it’s not adults only. I remember the lovely scent when you walk in, cleanliness 10/10, interior is goals, my favourite was lunch time as there’s different food trucks from tacos, burger & chips, ceviche… Some days in the lobby they’ll also put out selection of biscuits/sweet treats to have with a hot drink. The breakfast buffet also amazing!!! I miss having their freshly cooked omelettes & the hashbrowns. They even have an ice cream bar. Quite honestly just enjoyed myself eating. We stumbled across a show once in the hotel as were waiting for a dinner table, took us by surprise as it was so good the entertainers.

We stayed here as it was close to the airport and we arrived late, just passing through, and supposedly has a shuttle well it doesnt if you arrive late. They are also in on the new taxi scam that has started at Cancun airport. This taxi scam is awful and when you question the price the drivers are very very aggressive and charge 6 times the price than the shuttle bus ( ask for the shuttle - will take you to centro bus station and you can get a cheaper taxi from there it is definitely available in the daytime or book in advance) . Nowhere else in Mexico have I had this experience just in Cancun trying to get to and from the airport and bus station. The room was fine but no working elevator on the fourth floor and the breakfast was disgusting flies all around it. Staff couldnt be less bothered to help. Got into a stand up row with the guy who was supposed to advise us how get to the bus station- the hotel in on the scam and want to charge 30 dollars ( 20 min drive) we ended up calling an UBER for 200. We asked if there were other options but he said no. He told us that the taxi's were owned by a British guy which made things worse. I wouldnt mind so much if the local Mexicans got the money. Mexico is a brilliant friendly happy and mostly honest place but have your wits about you near Cancun airport they are on the take - this place included. Totally unpleasant.
