Aldea Maya-Ha Cabañas Con Cenotes

This property is hidden away in the forest of puerto morelos, which is what I was going for. My stay was a three day stay. There are only a few cabins, and we had the pool pretty much to ourselves. The cenotes are an added benefit to the property. The cabins themselves are also really creatively built. I was impressed by the design. The downsides that I encountered are that staff were limited. We were greeted by a young woman who, I'm still not sure was staff, or part of another group that was also on the property at the time. I got a very brief walk through the property and then we were left to ourselves. The dining was dependent on the staff being there. I was also dissapointed by the food. We ordered three orders of tacos, two orders of the steak and one of the shrimp. The tacos consisted of your average tortillas and the protein, nothing else. Each order was three tacos and were 275 pesos for steak and 300 for shrimp which is around 15-17 USD. I get three good size tacos with a side of rice and beans for that same price back home. I was honestly disuaded from purchasing any more food after that. I was dissapointed that I struggled with internet, which at first I thought was part of the experience, but learned on the last day that they had just forgotten to mention that we had access to wifi. Overall, I think, had we had better staff guidance it would have changed the stay completely.

We wrapped up our adventure in the Mayan jungle at Aldea Maya-Ha, and honestly, this place is pure magic. If you’re looking for a hidden gem, this is it! Family-owned and operated, the cabins/palapas were handcrafted by the owner, Julio, using traditional Mayan building techniques. Every corner of this place honors the land and its natural resources. From the hand-built furniture to the thoughtful details, you can feel the connection to nature everywhere you go. Cenotes? Check. Imagine swimming in natural underground caves that feel like something straight out of a dream. There’s also a one-of-a-kind, handmade sweat lodge, a perfect way to experience an authentic Mayan tradition. For those seeking tranquility, the enclosed meditation room is the ultimate escape—whether you’re here for a yoga retreat or just want a quiet space to reflect. Let’s talk food. Elda, a true gem, whips up fresh breakfast, lunch, and dinner daily in the charming open dining area. The meals are homemade and served from 8am to 8pm, and everything is made with love by the family. If relaxation is your thing, you’ll love the hot tub perched above the pool—talk about a serene view. The pathways are well-marked and lit, making it easy to explore this peaceful retreat. Whether you’re after adventure or some serious R&R, Aldea Maya-Ha is a must-visit destination. We will definitely be back!

The property is off the beaten path. The cabanas are quiet and relaxing. The hosts are friendly and helpful. You can order off the menu and enjoy a delightful meal in the common area or back at your cabana. Plan on renting a car for ease of travel. Puerto Morelos beach is 16 min away but not walking distance. If you need true R&R, or a retreat location, this is the place! I will be back!!!

Aldea Maya-ha is such a peaceful, soothing, space to be, to just be. Julio and Elba are amazing hosts and make one feel so at home and taken care of, with their food, lodging, cenotes, and maloka. What an amazing stay and close enough to the beach and town, but far away enough that you get the seclusion you desire. I cannot recommend this place enough, it helped rejuvenate my over-worked spirit and I plan to come back to Aldea Maya-ha. Much gratitude to this space and its owners (plus two cute dogs). Gracias!

This is a wonderful venue with incredible construction in the Mayan tradition and two cenotes to swim and sit beside. The food is amazingly fresh and wholesome. The owners are very helpful and know the area. The jungle is beautiful and safe.

We were looking for somewhere that is beautify and we could be in the jungle, near cenotes, could do ceremony and eat good food. Aldea Maya Ha exceeded all of our expectations! The cabins were beautiful and were obviously crafted with care and love. I spent a lot of time marveling at the craftsmanship and skill that went into them. They were clean and comfortable. The property was just remote enough – not too far from Puerto Morelos beach and not too close to anything else. You could use this as a home base for your explorations or just stay here enjoying the cenotes, wildlife, sound of the wind in the trees and the activities (Temazcal, etc) they offer here. The two cenotes were magical, each with their own characteristics and attributes that made them very special places. We ate many of our meals here and the the food was excellent every time with the variety and vegetarian, vegan and non-veg options kept everyone happy. You have to try the vegan ice cream, by the way! Julio was an amazing host. We had a couple special requests and he went to great lengths to make it all work. His communication, generosity, cheerfulness and love for his guests - each at such a high level - is something I have never experienced in my travels around the world. All the staff was super friendly and helpful. We came back for one more night on our way back to the airport so we could take in a bit more of the magic of this place. I already want to back.
