I wrote a lengthy and detailed review previously which was suppressed by TripAdvisor. In short, do not go here. The beach is unusable, the resort is in disrepair, there is a terrible odor, food options are restricted, room service is badly delayed, service is spotty, and we experienced theft while here. We have travelled extensively and been to numerous resorts but this one is a scam. Do not go here. The positive reviews must be fakes.

The resort felt like a Vegas hotel. There is a lot to like there, but we wanted to experience a tropical feel, not a Vegas feel. I'm sure some people would love it. Our biggest problem was 2 days in we contracted a parasite from the food at the resort. We spent 3 of our 6 days in bed. While Ava has alot to offer and most of the staff was absolutely amazing, until they get the parasite issue resolved, don't go.

My wife and I recently stayed at the Ava Resort Cancun. We were there with several friends. During our stay we were assigned two excellent butlers, Rafael and Plutarco who helped us get dinner reservations, and answered our many questions throughout the day. We communicated via What’s App. Our stay was made very pleasant because of the two of them. We enjoyed several of the restaurants there, favorite was Chez Moi, which was French, our waiter there was Victor who was very helpful and knowledgeable about the menu, we ate there twice, we had Duck, Beef Wellington, Lamb and Short Ribs, also enjoyed Livo, during our stay they had a guest chef, Kiko Moya who is a two star Michelin chef from Spain, he gave a cooking class on Paella and we had Duck Paella at that restaurant. Black Iron had great steak and Bone Marrow. The pools were great, we did not go to the beach because of the seaweed there but there was enough entertainment at the pool that we did not miss the beach. Rafael and Plutarco also arranged a “chef’s dinner” in our room, it was prepared by Chef Erick, we had steak and lobster and it was delicious. We also went to the theater there for evening entertainment, and took an excursion to Rio Secrecto which was a Cenote adventure. There is also a golf course at the resort. We had a wonderful time there, and it was enhanced by our two butlers, I would recommend this resort and we plan to return to it in the future.

Currently here having a fabulous holiday. The hotel is truly amazing, layout and decor is of a high standard. Food is superb, excellent customer service at all times as staff are so friendly and what to provide an exceptional level of customer satisfaction. There is just a great atmosphere all round which is making for a wonderful holiday. No rush in the mornings for sunbeds as the pool area is huge and there has been plenty of space allocated for sunbeds. Pools offer peace and quiet or lively vibe whatever you prefer. Teen area has a great space of pool tables, table tennis, basket ball court, gaming area. There are activities throughout the day for all age groups. The hotel has a great vibe in the evenings also. The speciality restaurants have been amazing so far. So pleased I chose AVA for my holidays.

I stayed here for a week with my partner and the hotel is great overall. One thing I will say is that we tried booking the steakhouse and could not get a booking whilst staying but we didn’t try book for a few days in as we didn’t think, but the restaurants we attended were all up to quality Especially Kita where we ended up going twice, on the last night I’d like to say Luis the chef and Aaran the waiter both made the last night spot on and Luis put on a good show for everybody what should not go un noticed. In the day time the staff will check on you making sure everything is on par, taking food and drink orders. There wasn’t a day where I would be waiting and drinks would be filled and ordered before they were finished. I get the beach might smell a bit like seaweed at times but the hotel can’t prevent that and that aside you cannot fault them for that.

The service here was amazing and so was the food! We had the most wonderful butler service with Rafael and Plucky. I felt like a princess. Honestly, the hotel reminds me of a high cruise experience. My only negative was the smell from the decaying sargassum seaweed. Of course the hotel does their best to deal with this seasonal problem, but it was very off putting.

We were a group of 7 adults coming to AVA together . Our butlers, Rafael and Plutarco made our stay very special and easy to manage . We tried to do everything … pool life ; massages ; salon ; great eats ; shows ; room service ; drive into town ; excursions ; special events like cooking and mixology classes . Our chefs dinner in our room was very special thanks to Chef Erick. Black Iron and Chez Moi were our top 2 restaurants . We enjoyed copal and Bao too. And loved the paella in Vivo cooked by the Michelin guest chef .. Kiko Moya. We knew we would not be going to the beach and enjoyed hanging out in the various pools which had great service . We plan to come back with our family ( kids ) next year .

We stayed at the Ava Resort in Cancun. Is a wonderful resort, the restaurants were very good. Our favorites were. Chez Moi, our server was Victor who was very helpful. Great French food love the beef Wellington, the duck, lamb and the short ribs. We also enjoyed Livo, mediterranean food, the chef was a two star Michelin chef from Spain named Kiko Moya, he had a cooking class and made delicious duck paella, we had a chef Ekick make us dinner in our room which was wonderful, we had steak and lobster. The best part of our stay was our butlers, Rafael and Plutarco, they were both very helpful during our stay and took care of all our needs. The only complaint we had was mainly the smell from the seaweed, but that was many toward the beach and I think it was throughout the eastern Cancun area. Otherwise, I would highly recommend staying at Ava Resort, if coming to the Cancun area.
