Unfortunately, we didn't check all the reviews before we made the booking. This hotel has quite impressive features, but something in not quite right. Given the star rating and the prices, I think we were well within our rights to have expected something better. Some of the reviews I have read since then, suggest a Spanish leaning. I would have to say that I think there is some truth in this. The food in the restaurant would support this notion. The evening entertainment seems to only be for elderly Spanish guests. We did ask reception for a change of room, but was told that the hotel was fully booked. A Spanish couple, who we became we friendly with, told us they didn't have any difficulty in changing their room. It does make you wonder. I am sure that many have enjoyed their stay here, but one can only judge by their own personal experiences. This hotel is very expensive by Benidorm standards. It is my opinion that the food does not match the star rating. The service and attitude in reception is very disappointing. There were some good points about the hotel, but they were obscured by the negative points. Pending the expected reply, I should point out that we are both pensionable age and don't drink. For the record, this is the only the second bad review we have ever posted.
