Getting off the coach on a main road to be greeted by a couple, whose first words to me was to get back on the coach as the hotel was under renovation. We entered the hotel to a demolition site, bare wall's, bare floor and a make shift reception desk. Work men everywhere drilling, laying flooring, painting and the smell and dust was awful. We were given a room on the 4th floor but was unable to use the lifts because of the workmen, either painting the lift doors or moving materials around. On arrival to room there was plaster missing on walls in corridor, inside room there was a strong smell of smoke all the furniture was thread bare, air conditioning didn’t work, bathroom was shabby with cracks in toilet and bath, shower head had to be hand held as there was no support for it. Receptionist didn’t want to know and blamed our travel company for not telling us what was going on. Contacted TUI and they could only apologise but were unable to move us. We stayed for 10 night and hated every min.
