Banana Bank Lodge & Jungle Horseback Adventures

Our stay at Banana Bank Lodge was nothing short of magical! From the moment Jack welcomed us off the back, we felt like family. His warm greeting set the tone for an incredible experience. The horseback riding was truly magical, offering breathtaking views and a peaceful connection with nature—it was perfect for all ages in our group. The art museum was an absolute highlight. Seeing Carolyn Carr’s stunning artwork was such a treat, as she is an amazing Belizean artist whose talent is truly inspiring. The historical museum was another hidden treasure, offering a fascinating glimpse into the culture and history of the area. The food was absolutely delicious, and the staff went above and beyond to cater to our large family group. Every meal was thoughtfully prepared and made us feel so well taken care of. The pool was fantastic and an absolute hit with the kids, who couldn’t get enough of it. Banana Bank Lodge is a place we’ll never forget, and we can’t wait to return!

Perfect location. In the jungle and on the river. And the staff was super nice. The art gallery and Jaguar was a bonus. We also did some hiking and it was a great location for that. The accommodations and meal were also great. We really enjoyed the whole experience.

It's a very nice ranch with a big pool. They provide horseback riding with a small fee. All of the rooms have air conditioning and a bathroom. Some rooms have kitchens. Nice place to stay. Every once in a while Mexico shuts off the power to the country for an hour or two and this place doesn't have a backup Generator so bring a flashlight just in case.

The horseback riding was beautiful. Rady was our guide and he was fantastic! You will cut through beautiful jungle and end up at the river. The grounds were magical, there are plenty of opportunities to see wildlife.

I visited BBL for 3 days and thoroughly enjoyed myself. I stayed in one of the more rustic cabanas which was very private and quiet. There is no AC but the days and nights are cool enough to stay very comfortable. I slept like a baby while I was there and loved hearing the jungle insects and birds lulling me to sleep at night and in the morning. I ate all my breakfasts and dinners which were very tasty and good portions. The staff was super nice and helpful and able to set me up with some nice half day excursions even though I was traveling alone. The pool was both beautiful and very refreshing surrounded by beautiful trees and flowers. There are horses wandering the property all over which I loved, as well as several family dogs. The family who runs this place were very friendly and welcoming, and all the staff indicated working there for decades and had nothing but kind things to say about the family. I would definitely recommend BBL if you're looking for a fun jungle escape near Belmopan
