A spectacular renovation and restoration of a stately home to safeguard the historical heritage of Castilla-La Mancha and attract quality tourism to a town like Belmonte, which is worth a visit just for its Collegiate Church and Castle. The downside is that a good idea turns into a mediocre experience due to the neglect of its facilities. A luxury, four-star hotel (actually barely a third star) with uncleaned hallways, rooms with lint on the floors, a lack of gel in the bathrooms, windows opaque with dust, tables piled up in the elevators, and a small, almost invisible staff. It's a shame, because the idea, an imitation of Paradores, was good, but either the regional government lacks the budget to maintain this type of facility or the management isn't carried out by professionals. For now, it's a missed opportunity.

Lights and shadows,... nice place but the room is not very clean, the bathroom, the TV can't see the channels, the phone doesn't work. The reception service was very regular and there was little desire to tell anything to see in the town. On Saturdays, forget about a nap or a wedding with loud music.

Our experience at this Infante Don Juan Manuel spa hotel has been disappointing. Firstly, we were assigned a room of a clearly lower category than the one we had paid for through a gift voucher. Only after we detected that this was not the room paid for (suite with views), did they recognize the error. The staff's apology was that due to a mistake they had assigned the room to another client. The most disconcerting thing was the lack of a solution offered by the establishment to remedy its mistake. The only proposal was to discount the price difference between the two rooms. This response is surprising and unsatisfactory, since the responsibility falls on the hotel for initially providing the wrong room, taking into account that they only recognized their error when we detected it. They were trying to see if it would fit… This fact suggests a lack of integrity on the part of the establishment. In addition to this attempt at deception, other episodes were added that we briefly recounted and that aggravated our level of disappointment in the stay at this hotel: 1-The information provided about the availability of Wi-Fi in all rooms turned out to be false, since we experienced problems continuous connection in the assigned room. 2-The temperature in all areas of the hotel was noticeably cold, evidencing a deficiency in heating or its insufficiency. The total absence of “amenities” in the bathroom, as well as the lack of slippers and bathrobes in an establishment that advertises itself as four stars, is regrettable. 3-The spa, although advertised as open, was not fully operational, as we were told, which indicates a lack of transparency in the hotel's advertising. 4-The breakfast offered was disappointing, a buffet with notable deficiencies and the need to request orange juice and milk, because they had run out... The quality of the pastries suggested that they were not fresh, they were dry... they did not even have whole wheat bread... It is worrying to observe discrepancies between the Booking rating (8.8) framed by the reception and the current reality (7.7), which reflects a lack of honesty and transparency on the part of the hotel management. In summary, our stay was marked by a series of inconveniences that reveal poor and incompetent management to manage a hotel establishment. In our opinion, this hotel that demonstrates such a degree of incompetence and resorts to deceptive practices should be subject to stricter review and regulation to ensure quality and honesty in its services.
