Used to be a great pub. Been going for years. Now under new ownership, staff couldn't care less and act like you're inconveniencing them. Food not what it was - overpriced, we and the people on table next to us left half our meals on our plates because of the bad quality. Fortunately this lovely village has other pubs/restaurants!

We have been to the Cheviot a few times for a drink but decided to try the food. We were placed in the adjoining dining room as the pub itself was full. We were both very satisfied with our dinner choices, food was hot and plentiful. Staff were very helpful and friendly , shout out to Harriet who looked after us. We will be back 😀

Been coming to bellingham many years , the cheviot was a favourite place to visit , no longer !!! last week we were charged 18£ for a bottle of wine , this week we were charged 24£ for the same bottle of wine when queried the response was " new owners" , it was new owners the previous week ,HOW CAN THEY JUSTIFY A 6 POUND INCREASE IN ONE WEEK

The rooms are above the pub and exceeded our expectations for small village accommodation. We stayed there after a Kielder dark skies observatory visit. The rooms ( we travelled with a friend) were spacious , and clean and the beds were really comfortable. They seemed recently refurbished. The breakfast was one of the best we’ve had in a hotel with really good quality food. But the best feature of all of this was the staff who were welcoming and helpful. We ate in the pub the evening before our Kielder experience and there was a very friendly atmosphere.

Visited with friends for lunch on Sunday and had the most delicious carvery! Meat and vegetables were cooked to perfection and the gravy was to die for! The delightful friendly chef was justifiably proud of his food as well as being great company. In fact all the staff were a pleasure to be served by. Oh and excellent beer too! We will be back.. thank you.

The accommodation was lovely and the hotel support staff is top notch! We had some late night noise from the pub below, but it didn’t last much past midnight. Our meals were plentiful and delicious! We had hearty breakfasts every morning and delicious dinners in the pub each night. Local brews were great and reasonably priced.

My experience at this pub was marred by the incredibly rude staff. From the moment I walked in, I felt unwelcome. They were dismissive, unhelpful, and even downright condescending when I asked a simple question about the food. It's a shame because the atmosphere and food could have been enjoyable, but the staff's attitude completely ruined the experience for me. I won't be returning. I was really disappointed by the food at this pub. Not only did the presentation leave much to be desired, but the flavours were also quite unappealing. It felt like little effort went into preparing the dishes, and I couldn't even finish my meal. For the price they charge, I expected much better quality and taste.

Just loved this place! Great range of reasonably priced local beers, fantastic evening meal and the most amazing kipper for breakie. Staff couldn’t do enough for us. The room was clean with lovely local touches. Looking forward to returning in winter
