Capital Hotel Garni

The hotel had a great central location in the Belgrade old town. It was in the pedestrian only area of old town about 150 meters (500 ft) or so from a road you can drive on. The bathroom was a nice size. The bed was very firm which is common in Europe. I didn't care for the bedding, but it was functional. Breakfast was okay. It was more of a Turkish style breakfast. I really like American breakfasts which they did not have. The hotel restaurant was a Turkish restaurant. I tried it once for dinner and it was excellent. The price was very reasonable.

Quiet, clean, and comfortable rooms. Excellent value. Excellent location, within walking distance of myriad restaurants, bars, cafes, and cultural offerings. Staff was attentive and kind. We would return for sure.

First I'll write the negative stuff: Our room was quite dark, we had some light bulbs on the ceiling which could not be switched on, they were there for decoration purposes? Also there is no safe deposit box in the room. Hotel has one elevator and it is very slow. It's a long wait. The toilet door could not be closed in the room. There are stairs to get to the restaurant, and it is on the -1 floor. It is not suitable for people who have difficulty walking. Good things are: Breakfast is good, the pastries reminded me of some we had in Turkey. Those guests who didn't get BB can have breakfast for 8Euro. The hotel and the rooms are very clean. Everyone is friendly in the hotel. You cannot reach the hotel by car because it is in a pedestrian zone, so you should mind not to carry a lot of bags, because you will have to carry them. Our room was beautiful and modern, it was not noisy facing the street because there are double windows, when they are closed you can't hear anything. It's a very good location to visit the town and sightseeing. Even if you buy something, you can jump to the hotel, leave your things, and you're back on the street in no time.
