We arrived at Mango House on June 15th for 10 nights by the 16th we wanted to leave already. There were many things that made Mango House not a nice stay for us but mostly what threw us off was the staff. After one day and seen the staff not really care about clients and having ordinary or no service at all at restaurants and pool we had enough already, and we wanted to leave and go another Hilton property. We had everything setup with Waldorf to leave after 5 nights knowing that at least we would get Mango House a little bit of business. We told them our plan more then 72hours in advance and then the manager Sabrina told us we would need to pay 800-1000 Euro (One night at the daily rate) to be able to leave. We were shocked having been Diamond with Hilton for so many years. We declined to pay and stayed even though we were quite upset. Then on the 6th day after the plane left for the Waldorf another manager came to see us and told us we could leave. It felt like she was literally laughing in our face knowing that there is only a flight per day at Waldorf and that now we couldn't go anyway having crossed 60% of our trip. At that point we knew they just didn't care about customers, and you can see that with other people's review this year. From the bathroom having moisture, to room been cleaned not before 2 PM every day. To staff knocking on doors every night at 7PM for turned down service while they know we go to eat at 8PM every night, it's not what I would call 5 stars. Tv didn't work for 2 days either. One night we went to a restaurant for our reservation to find out they were overbooked and had to wait a little bit, they seated us in another restaurant and then we had to wait 20 minutes for menu because they had no menu left and we had to wait for other people at other table to make their choice. I've never seen that before. Every day at the pool near to the lobby after 1pm there would never had any towels left, they would never add some, one day we asked for 2 and the employee just answered, sorry we don't have more and just left. A few specific comments: 1. Check-in: Gave us no information about the hotel, opening hours of restaurants, bars, absolutely NOTHING. On our 4th day we had to ask if there were any kind of activities on the resort and that's when they told us we could go to their sister property to enjoy the day as well. If we didn't asked, we would of never knew. On the 8th night we asked Sabrina what restaurants would be opened on the 9th and 10 nights to planned. She looked lost and simply said I don't know. 2. As for the service - the reception desk pretends to be engaged in reading very important information on the computer, they do not notice the guests passing by. 3. Some of the staff were pretty good but some looked like they did not want to be here at all The thing we liked about the resort was the food at Japanese and Creole restaurant was really good! This was my second time at the Mango House Hotel in Seychelles, the first in October 2021, at which time I also posted a very positive review here about the hotel. There was fresh from the opening of the hotel. Based on very positive expirience, we visited the hotel again this year (2024. Unfortunately, it is with a painful heart that I cannot repeat what I wrote about the hotel 3 years ago. I would add that we have held diamond status in the Hilton hotel chain for years. Unfortunately, we did not feel we were treated this way from the arriving in the hotel. We were given a room close to the main pavilion, room number 24, with an entrance through the basement, dark and smelling of damp. The dampness was visible on the walls in the bathroom and room - see photos. Dust under the bedside lamps - the amount of it may indicate that it had not been removed for several weeks. We spoke to Iva (front desk manager??) repeatedly about the room's flaws, she even showed us 2 alternative rooms, which however were not much better at all. On the last day, to our surprise, Iva informed us with astonishment, she had received information from her supervisor that we were not satisfied with the room (!!!???). The situation took us completely by surprise. To be honest, we had hoped that, as a diamond member, the LXR hotel chain would plan for the arrival of guests with this status and book for them a room checked, cleaned and at least in good condition. Unfortunately, we got the impression that no one there thinks about it or plans for it. On the last (6th) evening during dinner, we were first approached by a woman who asked us about our impressions of her stay, GM? I don't know, because she didn't introduce herself. She was unimpressed by our comments. We got to know that she would talk to Iva, that's all. The standard of service, the interest of the guests by the management leaves much to be desired. The staff are left to their own devices, unsupervised. This is evident throughout the day and in every situation. And LXR hotels are all about the little things, about caring for the guest. This, by the way, was the case in 2021, under a different hotel management. Today, it's definitely not the standard of a 5* LXR-type hotel. As of today, my rating is 4*. It is a great pity, because the hotel is beautifully located, but for these less than 3 years it has been very neglected, technically and service-wise. A few specific comments: 1. Check-in: the staff did not greet us nice and firendly, gave us no information about the hotel, opening hours of restaurants, bars, absolutely NOTHING. The lady at reception only informed us that the system was currently down and that we should report to reception before dinner to sign the check-in form and pay the financial deposit. 2. Omg what a lovely property, it's far from down town nestled along the sea side. Once u entered the property you will be wowww 🥰😍suite rooms are spacious with two large washrooms & swimming pool, interior is so beautiful once you entered the room there will be a welcome desserts, hats & bag from the Mango house, there in-house resturants are excellent. Breakfast serving is superb, they have Italian, Creoles & Japanese cuisine restaurants with delicious food, they have in-house bar. Reception area is so so beautiful facing the Indian Ocean, they have their small personal beach. This property is huge so you can walk around & explore the Mango House.Staffs are helpful. their in-house kitchen is also good with some Indian menu👌👌 they have huge swimming pool & also surfing, kayaking activities. We would highly recommend when you are planning Seychelles trip

Very bad service and most of the staff were unfriendly. The reception at check in resisted to share a map of the resort and basically told us that he has no other room options to share. However, when i checked online, they had several rooms available. I booked with my amex platinum and the property was listed as an FHR property. They did not provide us with an upgrade, although it was available according to their website. The service isn't reflective of an FHR property service.

I had the best experience in a hotel with kids.! The staff was the most helpful in every way and did make sure our kids felt welcomed, it’s never easy to travel with kids and relaxing is not a word I ever thought I would use when it came to vacation but they proved me wrong.! After spending the whole day by the turquoise water and soaking in the sun felt like I was sleeping on a cloud, the beds were the most comfiest and the pillows! I actually wanted to bring one home with me. It was a lavish experience and I’m longing to spend a another Holiday there soon.!

The most disappointing restaurant I have even been to. Beautiful setting. But the food and service was TERRIBLE. Took 45mins for our drinks to be served. The curries was just about edible. We were very hungry after the hours wait so we ate it. The steak was dry and flavourless. The pizza was the only good thing. The service was not at all what I expected. Only 2 people taking care of a busy restaurant. I paid a lot of money for the mediocre food I ate. Never coming back again despite the beautiful location the hotel is at.

From the moment you check in until you check out, you feel like you rented an apartment and not live in a 5 star hotel. breakfast A la carte with a 2 o'clock wait for food . Flies, birds on the tables. The staff is tired, there are not enough towels at the pool (you have to beg for them to be brought). All our complaints went unheeded, it feels like no one cares. We ordered a taxi through the reception, we stood waiting for 25 minutes, it didn’t arrive and no one called or informed us. Small beach with big waves. There is no concierge, there are no services that could be offered in this hotel except for food, which must constantly wait up to 2 hours from the moment of ordering. The hotel is beautiful but only for photos.

Our stay was a disaster from our arrival at the airport. We had arranged a transfer with Mango House from the airport weeks in advance. I confirmed this 2 days before arrival. Nobody was at the airport and after repeated calls they finally got someone to pick us up. We waited over an hour at the airport after a very long overnight flight. They had clearly just called up a radon taxi, a dirty car with a driver who ranted about the political and economic situation in the Seychelles for a half hour. Not a nice start to the trip. The we arrived and they had us in a room with two separate beds, not what we booked. This appears to be a common problem based on Tripadvisor reviews. We waited over an hour while they got a manager and tried to figure out a solution, but there was no solution, that's all they had. I had booked a couple months in advance and had a printed confirmation for a king bed room. They just said all the rooms were full. During this hour long wait, nobody offered us anything like water or a drink (paid or not) and they didn't seem too bothered by the situation. The stay went downhill from there. The room smelled very musty and stuffy. We've been to dozens of troical countries and have been to the Seychelles many times before, so we know the musty smell is not normal, even in these humid conditions. The room felt worn out, even though the resort is relatively new. There were heavy scratches on shelves, what appeared to be water stains on the wood floor, a broken shower sprayer that just flopped down, small stains on the carpet and decorative mosquito nets, just not a nice room feeling. The central area with the reception and the lounge is in a beautiful spot overlooking the bay, however there were always dirty dishes on the tabes, old towels left on chairs for hours, dirty ashtrays left all day. It was very clear that nobody was looking after this central public space. The food & beverage offerings were overpriced and the service was poor. They forget two dishes during our first night's dinner. When we mentioned it, they just said sorry. You'd think they would ask if you still wanted the dishes, or if they could get us anything else. Nope, nothing, just sorry. Breakfast is very average. Small dishes are ordered from the menu (very small portions) then they come around with a couple boards of items like fruit, meat and cheese. These boards always seem to be picked over, so a few pieces left, not appetising. On the second day we arrived on the late side of the breakfast service due to being jet lagged. We were greeted by one of the staff looking at their watch with an exasperated sigh. It as clear we were not welcome since it was about 15 minutes before the end of the breakfast time. At a resort costing 600-1200 euro per night, you would expect a little flexibility with breakfast time, especially since most people are flying in from overseas and might be a little jet lagged.
