Wonderful staff; very friendly and helpful. Whether that be assisting with attractions or sharing knowledge on how to get around the city, the people at IU Hotel made me feel welcome and at ease.
The room was tidy, with a hot shower, decent toilet and sink amenities. However, there was a bit of a smell—other reviewers have mentioned this too.
Poor ventilation meant that it was difficult to air-out the room and remove the smell. And I would often find that the smell of smoke would come in through the vents from adjacent rooms, too.
I will point out that, while the smell isn’t great, I had a great stay here overall.
The location is excellent—right next to Panjiayuan Flea Market! And there are plenty of places nearby to eat or drink before taking a short subway into the city.
Overall, I found this to be good value for money.
Hope this helps you decide.
