This place is a gem! The staff are very helpful and friendly! Room is clean and cosy. Great location. Lots of eateries nearby. Highly recommended.

Visited during ultra low season and the surrounding was almost ghost town like. No breakfast available in the place. Only 1 eating place open nearby.
I am sure it is much better when the town livens up. There is a bus terminal nearby but Baidu maps took me on a roundabout route.
The old town is stone paved, so pulling your luggage may be tiresome.

Really nice hotel!
It’s located in Chadao Ancient Village next to Badaling!
The walk to the free shuttle bus to the Great Wall is nice, takes about 10 minutes.
The village is beautiful, so many family run b&bs around. At nights, there are lots of bbq places to choose from. You can also order from a fried chicken place! There are a few little shops in the village.
They don’t speak English, but they can add you on wechat! They helped me find a place for a covid test & told me how to get the Great Wall!
The room was a nice, the bed was ok. The room was a little dirty! The pool was only for certain rooms.

You can come back to rest after climbing the Great Wall the next day or go to climb the Great Wall after resting! The boss is very chatty.
