Beijing Xiaoxi Homestay is located at Erdaoguan, Jiudu River, Huairou District, Beijing. As its name suggests, Erdaoguan was the second pass of the Ming Dynasty Great Wall, and many complete city platforms or walls were left in the village. Xiaoxi was fortunate enough to choose many courtyards that are interdependent with these sites, either by the city platform or with the original city walls as the walls of the courtyards. Our hosts started with the original intention of respecting and reviving history, with the Great Wall as the core, and matched with the architectural techniques and craftsmanship of each courtyard's original site, to create the current 13 courtyard group with different styles, ranging from quaint and elegant century old houses to solid stone buildings. The Japanese style courtyard with a wooden structure has been in use for nearly two years, just like our name "Xiao Xi". A very beautiful set of units. There are options to suit every kind of trip (couples, families, solo, small and large groups). We stayed in 5 Room. The quality is of a high standard, spacious rooms, comfortable beds, modern ensuite bathrooms in every room. Underfloor heating is a bonus! Lovely outlook over the village towards the Great Wall. Peaceful and sunny.
Service was excellent with the hotel management available by wechat to explain where to go and responding to every request promptly and helpfully.
A tip to improve, some more kitchen cutlery to enable home cooking.
Will definitely come back!

The location is beautiful surrounded by mountains and the Great Wall. The location isn’t ideal for people without a car it was quite difficult to get a taxi to pick you up and take you home. Having my own cabin was very nice and it was peaceful and quiet. However, the bed was hard, the water sometimes would go out, the toilet didn’t flush properly, and at night the centipedes and millipedes came out. They do have different cabins around and I wish I had chose one that was not so rustic. I think it was not worth the price charged and it isn’t foreigner friendly as no one spoke English. I had to have my didi driver speak with the girl and then I contacted trip.com. If I do return it will probably be with a group of friends and I would pick a different room.

Top! Very central location near the wall. Cosy village. Breakfast is chinese. They offer good dinners for extra payment: very fresh cooked! Beds are hard (at least in the cheapest rooms), so keep that in mind.

Very nice courtyard hotel. Nicely decorated spacious courtyards. Super friendly service and delicious food served. The village itself is nothing special but very close to the Great Wall (we could see it from our courtyard) and scenic areas. Can recommend Linlongshan a few kilometers from the house - very quiet, good walking paths and beautiful scenery. We will be back in the spring.

The room is very clean and quiet. It was renovated from an old house, and some traces of old items can still be seen. The store's service was very good. Because the decoration at the entrance was a bit noisy, they gave us a room upgrade for free. You can barbecue in the yard in the evening, and the store provides a grill and charcoal fire. Breakfast was also provided in the morning, which is highly recommended.
