Crowne Plaza Beijing Chaoyang U-Town

East Second Ring Workers' Stadium Area
The hotel is in a great location with a mall entrance right beside, that has everything you need. The concierge staff are very helpful and the pool and gym facilities were great. The room is tidy, a little older and the aircon did not work; it was extremely hot at night. The booking process required essentially a double payment. Trip asked for a pre-authorisation amount of the total stay and instead of that being used for payment, they charged again plus a 1000rmb deposit so even though my stay was only 3 nights for a total of approx 3300 rmb I ended up being charged 7600rmb. Although the preauthorisation was refunded it still (3days later) is not showing in my account. Then when I went to check out, they tried to charge me a third time for 3300rmb. I normally stay with Crowne Plaza but this particular branch was not to the standard I am used to. Location again was awesome.
Crowne Plaza Beijing Zhongguancun

Zhongguancun Area
Very pleasant service and environment. The room was quite large, and we enjoyed the complimentary cookies and fruit. We took my 2-year-old to the pool, which was nice and mostly empty. There was no shallow end for kids, so my son was a bit scared (he is still new to swimming pools), but he permitted me to carry him around in it. It was not very easy to walk around and find a place to eat quickly except for some fast food restaurants. The street the hotel is on is a wide highway, so we did not spend a lot of time walking around outside. But we were able to easily and quickly get to the new Summer Palace from here.
Crowne Plaza Beijing Sun Palace

China International Exhibition Center Area
We arrived at the Crowne Plaza in the afternoon, from the airport. As the valet took the bags out the car, I suddenly realised I had taken the wrong suitcase from the baggage claim. The manager on duty began our check-in and called over the director of Guest services, Alex Li. Alex was incredible! He immediately found the number of and called the airline for me. Realising my bag had been taken, he set out to organise an exchange for me, should the other person get hold of the airline. We continued checking in - getting a free upgrade due to my having an IHG membership, regardless of my zero points - and went to the family suite. The room was brilliant. We had 3 adults sharing the area, but the living room, 1 bathroom, 1 extra toilet and beds in separate areas allowed for privacy and space. It was clean and well organised, and the view from the 20th floor was good. We left for dinner downtown, during which I received a personal call from Alex. He had stayed in touch with the airline counter and had found my bag! He spoke with the other passenger and arranged a direct transfer, which he later assisted me with (translating, negotiation, etc.) I was very grateful to him for his kindness and above-and-beyond service. At breakfast at ‘The Market’, we received a warm welcome from all staff. Everyone’s English was very good and the service staff were friendly and polite. Our table was also quickly cleaned whenever a plate was finished; a nice change in China. The food was nice for a hotel breakfast, with many options, and we enjoyed it. We decided to try the set menu from the ‘The Market’ for dinner. For ¥158, we had focaccia starter and could choose 1-of-2 salads, 1-of-2 soups, 1 main (beef fillet, pizza varieties or pasta varieties) and a drink (cold drinks, juice, house wine). I had the Caesar salad, pumpkin soup, medium beef fillet and a glass of red wine. The wine was OK, but the food was excellent! The flavours were great and the fillet was cooked to perfection. I was thoroughly impressed, especially for a hotel meal. Overall, the quality of the hotel and its staff - especially Alex - was superb. I was so pleased to stay there, that I changed my booking to an IHG hotel for the next stop of our trip, too.

Wangjing Area
My stay at the Crown Plaza was phenomenal. The hotel is conveniently located in the center of the Lido Area, known for its upscale residents, international medical centers, restaurants, and bars.  The accommodations were spacious and clean with an amazing view of the city. It is conveniently located near bars, restaurants, and shops.

Yanqing Resort Area
I took my children to Longqing Gorge to see the ice lanterns during the Spring Festival. This hotel is OK. I went to the hotel to check in after watching the ice lanterns in the afternoon. The scenic area is 10 minutes away from the hotel by car, and there is a free underground parking lot. Many cars are also parked on it. I chose this hotel because it is close to the scenic area and can take a hot spring bath. The hot spring coupons are included when booking. I arrived at the hotel at about 4:30 in the afternoon. The front desk told me that the two rooms I booked had a large bed and a twin bed. Because they were connected or next to each other, the rooms have not been cleaned yet. This is the first time I have stayed in a hotel so late and there is no room. However, the front desk was very smart. After waiting for a few minutes and negotiating, one of the rooms was upgraded to a superior suite for me. The suite can be checked in immediately. The other room will have to wait for about 40 minutes. It is on the same floor and separated by several rooms. I also approved this plan. And I applied for a delayed check-out at 2 pm. The room is very clean and the children are very happy. We cleaned up and went to eat first. We were too lazy to go out, so we ate at the buffet downstairs. There were hot pots and other dishes. There were many varieties, but the cold wind was a bit strong, which caused the dishes to get cold after being put on the table for a while. The taste can only be said to be not worth the price, but it was generally okay! To take a hot spring bath at night, you have to go out of the building, but it is just opposite the building, about 20 meters away, very close. I like the environment inside very much, it is very private, and our family of four can be in a pool without being disturbed. The children also played in the children's pool for a while. The buffet breakfast also has many varieties, but the taste is really average. The pancakes that took more than 20 minutes to line up are not so delicious. Then the children played in the children's club on the first floor for a while. Due to the late check-out, I went back to take a bath and pack up my things without being so rushed. In short, I was still satisfied, and the children said they would come again next time.
