I just visited there over the weekend and wanted to share my experiences. It was a trip I had set up for my husband's 60th birthday. I had a choice between this place and Nemacolin (out of my price range) and I'm so glad I picked Bedford Springs. We had a wonderful stay!! We were treated well by everyone there, especially the gal at Tally-Ho who rented us ebikes and Bob the concierge. The hotel workers are courteous and helpful, say hello and everyone seems happy to be there. Since it was my husband's bday we had a delicious cupcake and card from the staff waiting for us when we returned to our room. Plus 2 drink tickets on the house. We took full advantage of the hotel's activities and went hiking (beautiful scenic trails), and even drank from the springs located around the hotel mountain, ebiking into town (which I highly recommend), swimming in the heated indoor pool. My husband took a history tour with Bob which he thoroughly enjoyed. Bob introduced himself to me after the history tour and also gifted us a cupcake, thank you Bob! He was very helpful and interesting to talk with so be sure to connect with him when you are there. Our room was gorgeous and very nicely appointed. We were in the spa wing with a lovely view overlooking the lawn and the pink redbud trees which were in bloom. I loved the soaking tub and the bed was very comfortable. The food was delicious, although on the pricey side, but it was a special occasion and we were prepared. The grounds are beautiful and the hotel immaculate. I just wished that guests picked up after themselves in the lobby. They tended to leave their glasses on the tables instead of taking them to the bar. A special treat was the pianist that played both Friday and Saturday nights in the lobby bar. Very nice to sit by the fire with a glass of wine listening to him. We hope to come back in the fall, that is how nice this place is. Give it a visit, you won't be disappointed. Very classy hotel and wonderful stay!

In May of 2019, I gave this facility 3 out of 5. Have stayed here three or four times since then and probably would have rated it the same. After staying here last evening, though, I'm dropping it to a 2 out of 5 and most likely canceling another reservation I have here in two weeks, along with not making a planned October reservation. In my previous review, I complimented the friendly staff. Those folks must have all quit, as the lady I had at check-in must have had a bad day/weekend. Not friendly at all. Honestly, I think I inconvenienced her by staying here. Speaking of inconveniences, cleaning must be one as well, as although my bed was made and I had fresh towels (I assume), I was also left the previous customer's trash, along with their used soap in the shower. Lastly, my smoke detector is hanging by the wires from the ceiling. Winder if it works? I've found when staying at hotels, it's the simple things that make the biggest difference. This place is not doing those simple things, and it shows.

My family stayed here overnight. My husband and I were the only ones to eat the sausage Pattie’s and about six hours later we both had explosive, painful diarrhea. That had been the only food we both ate in the prior 24 hours and that no one else in our family ate (no one else got sick, luckily). In addition - we had a lot of luggage, a small child, and older parents, but the front desk clerk told us they only had two luggage carts, people kept them in their room, and there was nothing they could do. We stayed at another Hampton inn the next night with a sign on the cart and a policy that guests found to be keeping a cart would be fined $25 and this seemed to make the carts pretty available - so there is something that can be done, they just chose not to do anything. The hotel, as far as I could tell, was otherwise fine, but I hate to think what else could be going on that we didn’t have time to notice.
