Save your money and find another lodge or hotel. The room my fiancée and I stayed In had dirty towels hanging up in the bathroom with brown stains on them. Also, one dirty towel was left hanging behind the door in the bathroom covered in stains. Makes one wonder how often they change the sheets on the beds between guests? When I brought this to the attention of the man at the check-in desk he acted like he could have cared less. Plus the water pressure in the shower was so bad I could have gotten better water pressure from the sprinkler in my yard. Sucks for a room we paid $300 for. Overpriced and overrated. Avoid.

My first visit to Cove Point Lodge was in July 2025. I can't wait to return. We loved the location and view of Lake Superior was amazing. Falling asleep and waking up to hear the lake waves was so relaxing. We enjoyed the breakfast, smores by the fireside, pool and hot tub. The staff is so friendly and the rooms are clean and comfortable.

We just spent three nights at this lovely lodge for our wedding anniversary, and were very pleased with everything about it. The lodge itself is very cozy and peaceful. The view is wonderful because the point adds a lot (you are not just looking at the vast lake). The landscaping has been kept as natural as possible. We stayed in one of the staterooms, which are just at the top of the stairs from the front desk. Our room had a pine king bed which was very comfortable, and was furnished with rustic looking furniture. Also had an in room jacuzzi, which was great after days spent hiking. I was surprised at how we heard no outside noise when we were in the room - especially since the room was just upstairs from the dining room/lobby/front desk. Was nice to be able to open the windows and hear the waves crashing into the rocks. We ate dinner in the lodge dining room two of the nights we were there. The meals were excellent - especially the brown sugar glazed pork chop. It is served with sweet potato puree, gingered sauteed mushroom, and a tangy apple slaw. Quite an explosion of different flavors. Service was perfect. One night we ate at the Crossings, which was more casual, but the food was very good. We spent most of our days exploring the state parks, so didn't take advantage of what the lodge has to offer for activities - frisbee golf, boccee ball, canoes, indoor pool, etc. We did enjoy the DVD's which were complimentary with our state room. Breakfast was good, but would have been nice if they had some different things out each day. Only cereal they had was corn flakes, and muffins were always blueberry. That was our only complaint, which is minor. I felt very relaxed at this lodge - a great stay!

Great stay in this lovely hotel. It is a little dated but that is part of the charm! Our room was spacious and comfortable. The lodge’s setting is beautiful, the staff friendly and we really enjoyed the dinners overlooking the lake - the food was of a high standard.

The location by the shore is great, but we had some concerns. We had a second floor room with a balcony. We accessed the balcony via a sliding patio door. At the end of the door where the door latches was a plastic panel. A portable A C unit vented via a hose through through the plastic panel. The problem was the door butted against the panel which resulted in leaving a slight crack between the door and the panel. This allowed cool air into the room. Considering what we paid for the room this was not acceptable. The bed also was not as comfortable as we would have liked. One side of the bed was very close the wall, barely allowing enough room to get in bed on that side. My wife sleeps on that side and uses a CPAP machine. We had to put a suitcase next to the bed on which to put her CPAP machine. It was a somewhat disappointing experience in general.
