There was no welcome book with information about the hotel or area -- which would have been nice since the front desk person spoke only French.

Fantastic place directly next to Mont Saint Michel. We brought our bikes with us and enjoyed biking a round the area and biking directly to the Mont Saint Michel avoiding the long shuttle bus queues. Very friendly and helpful hotel staff and good restaurant. The only small problem we had was getting through the entry gate to the area. There was a long queue of cars and almost everyone struggled getting through. When it was our turn we realized that we needed a code. A quick call to the hotel, who provided us the code, and problem solved.

Situated on a site with hotls, restaurants, souvenirs shop and with the bus stop (brown buses) to Le Mont St Michel right in front (across the garden), soothing sound of the fountain water on the green.. Our 3-person room (nr 121) was situated at the front of the hotel with a view of the little park in front of the building. Clean. Bathroom and toilet separated from each other is a plus.Also nice : the shelves in the bath room to store your toiletries (usually a problem in the average hotel) Minus · Our 3-person room (nr127) was not big (3 beds close to one another in 1 room) Breakfast : not bad but not much choice and only white bread with a hard crust Only French TV channels No lift; so could be a bit of a problem to older people To find the hotel site driving on the public road to Le Mont: follow the road Rue Du Mont St Michel and look for the arrow to the Mercure Hotel which is situated on the same site .

It is worth it to stay for the location alone, but add to that Veronique's very personal service and this is a great choice when visiting MSM. We drove there and arrived early (Veronique is fine for you to park your car before and after official check in and check out times). Be aware that to get to the property you need to drive down a road that indicates no cars (as there is no access to the village or MSM or parking down the road), but that sign does not apply when staying at this property. Luckily our room (no.1) was ready despite our early arrival, and she was fine to let us check in. Thorough tour of the facilities (including an ingenious idea where every guest gets a basket in the large fridge in the utility area to store there own items) and we headed off using her directions to MSM. On our return we drank our drinks in the garden looking at the great view of MSM, then walked to dinner at L'Hippocampe (also recommended). Good night's sleep and then a good quality generous continental breakfast in the morning, served by Veronique but with as many refills as you like. I had looked at all the hotel choices in the village, and on MSM itself, and was very glad we chose this place to stay.

Clean and tidy hotel and good value. My only criticism would be the lack of choice for breakfast, just a very basic continental breakfast but they didn’t even have jam or marmalade available. But the venue is next to the courtesy bus to Mount-St-Michel which is very good.

Room was comfortable and had everything we needed. Free parking on premises was a plus. Really nice grounds with a table and chairs set outside for us to use if we wanted to. Perfect location to visit Mont-Saint-Michel -- only about 10 mins away. When we went to make our food, plates were wet and greasy. There were previous tenants hair all over the tub in the shower. There was no welcome book with information about the hotel or area -- which would have been nice since the front desk person spoke only French.

The hotel’s reception is until 10pm. Everyone must pay attention. We drove at 2 am and there was no front desk. The boss is not in the store, and the phone is not answered. Can not enter the hotel, not in front of the village without the store, in the car until 6:30 boss came. The biggest mistake of this European self-driving tour. There is free parking. Compared with the ibis price of the same price, this hotel is not cost effective.
