Maison 1896

We could not have been more pleased with our decision to stay at Maison 1896 at the start of our annual Pre-Christmas visit to Paris and London. We flew overnight from San Diego and twenty hours later we were being warmly welcomed at the hotel . The hotel is new- open less than a year. Even before we arrived we knew it would be special . Every inquiry we made and every request for restaurants was responded to immediately. That helpful friendly attention to detail continued for all five days. We booked a larger room with a bath. The towel warmer and robes made bathing a delight . Our room looked over the market square but the windows were soundproof so we could enjoy the amazing view. There is a beautiful bar at the hotel and Ryan (from Milan) delighted us with his conversations . We travel A lot - fifteen countries this past year . We have stayed at many hotels and only a few could even match the level of comfort and friendliness at Maison 1896. We checked out today on December 1 and there was an advent calendar with boxes with chocolates which we were invited to open and enjoy the chocolate for today . A special ending to a special stay .

Perfect location to stay for a 3 night visit to Beane. It is more 4.5⭐️ just can’t give it 5 for how expensive it is and expectations for a new boutique hotel in historic building. It’s a little confusing to find with our cell service not working in town & not knowing where to park on arrival but you literally pull your car on the sidewalk in front of Maison door. Valet Mark and all the front desk staff were excellent, kind & welcoming. The room, Fleury King, overlooked Pl. de la Halle. On check in when valet showed us our room we asked about warm room temp were told due to it being Nov the system was off & we were unable to go cooler in the room than I think 22C = 71.6F (maybe 20C?) but we could open the windows. It was cool outside so that was nice option. Only issue is the area outside is somewhat noisy in general and very early morning there was lots of beeping from trucks & Sat morning market set up; so not great sleep over 3 nights with windows open & hit when closed. Room is very quiet with windows closed. They do not do a top sheet, only duvet which was hot (not unusual in Europe) left note for housekeeping in French asking for one which we didn’t get. Pillows are very firm but I’m guessing they had other options if we had asked (I take my own.) Bathroom was beautiful & large. Ours had rain shower & separate soaking tub. Nice brass fixtures. They only leave 2 towel sets/day and there was water leakage from shower & sink so it would be nice to have extra. We had a few items brought to our room for breakfast each morning which was nice; Coke Zero is extra. Checkout seemless! Valet had car at set time & came to get luggage. Small bar is cozy & very nice. Service borders on pretentious. Beautiful hotel, great location & service just a few misses for me. No deal breaker.

Excellent new hotel in downtown, in a magnificent setting, cosy, attentive, proactive service (always ready to help, ask what you need/want, helped us book restaurants and taxis, making suggestions when we did not even ask -- but not intrusively). I asked to book a particular restaurant, which was not available, and the lady at reception had that hurt look on her face that she could not help :). Comfortable room, large bathroom, comfortable bed and pillows, breakfasts -- all you normally expect in a hotel like this. Overall, great place to stay if you want to explore Baune and enjoy Burgundy wines.

This hotel is a true gem of Beaune, Burgundy. The hotel is located in the very center, the main attractions are nearby. Extremely sensitive staff - ready to help in any matter. After ordering the room, the customer service contacted us several times by mail to take into account all our wishes. They provided assistance in booking restaurants, sent us a whole restaurant guide of the city. They explained how to use the parking lot, but we were traveling by train, so the hotel politely offered us to call a taxi to the station (walk 15 minutes). The room was very cozy, the bed, bed linen, pillows were at the highest level. Breakfast is great - freshly squeezed juices, leaf tea!, eggs will be cooked as you like. It's a pity that we couldn't have dinner at the hotel restaurant, there were no empty seats. The only drawback is that everything in the bathroom of the room is made for tall people, or maybe our room was for people with disabilities, I am 164 cm tall and my feet on the toilet did not reach the floor 🤣, and the sink in the countertop was far away - I had to stretch. После заказа номера, сервисная служба несколько раз связывалась с нами по почте, чтобы учесть все наши пожелания. Предоставили помощь в бронировании ресторанов, выслали нам целый ресторанный гид города. Объясняли как пользоваться парковкой, но мы ехали на поезде, поэтому отель учтиво предлагал нам вызов такси к станции (пешком идти 15 минут). Номер был очень уютный, кровать, постельное белье, подушки - на высшем уровне. Завтрак - великолепен - свежевыжатые соки, чай листовой!, яйца приготовят, как вы любите. Жаль, что нам не удалось поужинать в ресторане при отеле, не было свободных мест.

Beautifully renovated hotel centrally located in Beaune. Steps away from the tourist sites and excellent dining. We had a third floor room with skylights (which we liked). Incredible bathroom with large shower and heated floor. This was very welcome with the spring chill. Tastefully decorated, all the attention of a 5 star property. Staff were helpful. Included breakfast quirky for American tastes but I liked the Muesli and yoghurt. Would most definitely recommend this hotel

One of our favorite hotels we have ever stayed in. Every front desk employee was absolutely kind, warm, and helpful. Especially Elsa! Everyone was so lovely. We stayed for a week and I never saw the cleaning staff tidy our room yet our bed was always made, fridge restocked with waters, and they left sweet treats every night. The bed, towels, and whole room was extremely comfortable. The bathroom had heated floors and great shower pressure. The amenities were all ideal. I can’t recommend staying here enough!
