Just returned from a lovely but chilly weekend in Beaumaris with a friend. We stayed at Castle Court Hotel. We were in a twin room on the top floor (room 6) which was basic but adequate for us. Due to my friends temporary mobility problem and having problems with the stairs Guy offered us a room on the first floor with fewer stairs which we both thought was lovely of him. We went out for the day and on returning found all our things had been moved and put into room 2. Everything had been plugged in as it was in our previous room and the heater had been switched on so we returned to a lovely warm room. Guy and the staff couldn’t have done anything more to make us feel welcome. I will definitely return and would recommend if you want a clean basic base to stay in the gorgeous Beaumaris

Pros The rooms whilst small were clean and made up every day. The towels also changed every day. It is situated directly across from Beaumaris castle, at the end of the high street so easy access to Beaumaris. Given keys for the room and front door so could get in after the pub was closed. The pub had a ‘happy 2 hours’ which was busy but did not effect staying there. They have real fires in the evening which was welcome as it was cold - pity they are not lit for breakfast time though! Breakfast was basic continental but perfectly adequate. However there is no other food available so you need to go elsewhere to eat. Staff very polite and helpful when asked for something. Cons Basic hotel, very small odd shaped rooms, no heating in bathroom (and it was freezing) or in hallways and it was very cold when we arrived. The stairs are steep carpeted and not all the light sensor for the hallways worked which made getting up and down a little challenging at times! The mattress on the bed had definitely seen better days, it was you could feel springs, lumps and made odd noises when you moved it definitely needed changing. Pillows flat and need changing also. Only 2 plugs in room and not at bedside meaning you could not charge phone unless it was across the room or use anything electrical if your charging your phone. Windows rattled in the wind keeping you awake till you got used to the noise. . The light sensor in bathroom kept switching lights on in the middle of the night despite the light switch being turned off. Water pressure in shower is non existent. No parking with the hotel and the public parking is a walk away and you have to update your payment for it through out your stay. In summary it is a basic clean above a pub hotel that defiantly needs some work. For the money it was ok but I’m not sure we will return.

This was a three night stay to celebrate my husband's birthday. The hotel has a lovely, welcoming atmosphere and the staff are really friendly, especially Mandy who serves the breakfast. The room was clean, bathroom very nice and it had all we needed to feel comfortable. Our room over looked the castle and the town. The courtyard is really busy on warm days/evenings as it is a lovely sun trap and place to sit and chill and despite the noise of people enjoying themselves, it didn't bother us very much, as our room over looked the courtyard. Breakfast was simple but adequate with cheese, ham, yogurts, fruit, pastries and toast galore if you wanted it. I looked forward to sitting and having my first three cups of tea each morning in the relaxing breakfast room. Parking at Beaumaris Green was a bit of a faff but the car park is ideally situated for the hotel. It is a pity that the hotel does not offer a lunch and evening meal option too. All in all though we had great value for money and a lovely weekend as weather was warm and sunny for most of the time.

Great location - right opposite the castle and extremely close to a large public carpark. Booked directly with the hotel for the best rate and with 48 hour cancellation arrangement. On arrival we were greeted by a very helpful young lady and quickly checked into our standard double room. It was small, but exceptionally clean and had everything we needed for a one-night stay meeting friends and attending a production of Hamlet at the castle. Would definitely stay again.

It’s an old building so the walls are not square which makes the experience different to most hotels - and not in a bad way. It’s very well situated for the castle and water front. The hotel only does breakfast (which was fine with toast cooked to order) but these are plenty of alternative eateries within a short walk. Although it didn’t bother my wife as much as me I did find the mattress uncomfortable.

The hotel is situated in a very pleasant square, next to the castle. Very clean and friendly staff. We stayed four nights, every evening on way back to our room on second floor, we could smell a very strong smell of ****. It was coming from a room on first floor which wasn’t a guest room! Obviously a member of staff having a spliff each evening! Other than this we had a good stay.
