Stayed here for one night after a late flight in to Heathrow. Room was compact but big enough and was very clean and well appointed. It appeared to have been recently refurbished. Bathroom was clean with appropriate toiletries provided. Breakfast was an extra £12.50 for an excellent cooked breakfast. Staff were great and overall a good place to stay to the West of London. If Im flying in and need a place to stay before heading North this will be top of the list.

We just had a meal At chequers restaurant. The staff were v helpful and friendly . I tried the cauliflower panacotta with chickpea and rhubarb and dressing. A bit disappointing having cold cauliflower but the dressing and rest were fine. Sweet potato fries were lovely. My husband had fish and chips and chips were a bit undercooked and large . Lovely ambience with real fire and lovely exotic plants

We stayed here on a Saturday night. When we arrived, we checked in and were shown to our room which was above the pub/restaurant. The room was superb, well decorated and large! It had a mini bar and tea/coffee making facilities. The bathroom had a separate bath and rain shower with plenty of space for toiletries and bathrobes. If I had to be picky, I would have liked another small towel (for my hair) but managed perfectly well with the one provided. The pub was very cozy and we had a lovely table by the fire. The staff and owners were very friendly and the food was great. Service was excellent and we were never without a drink. There was a good choice for breakfast and the room was airy and the décor is in keeping with the rest of the place. I opted for the full English, toast and coffee and was not disappointed, it was just what I needed. Overall we had a thoroughly enjoyable stay and I would certainly recommend this hotel and restaurant to anyone.

I booked several rooms for an overnight stay with dinner on the eve of my son's wedding taking place the next day. Everyone was warmly welcomed by Jackie who acted as Receptionist and later took care of us extremely well in the Restaurant and bar. As there were 9 of us I had pre-arranged a menu for everyone which worked out really well with a mix of sharing starters and individual choices for main course. The Sea Bream was perfectly cooked and beautifully served, and the Pork Belly was also extremely well received with crispy crackling. Service was excellent. The rooms were a high standard with everything we could possibly need. Comfortable beds, lovely big bath and good pressure in the shower. There was a generous breakfast and plenty of tea and coffee. It is a lovely venue mixing the charm of the characterful old beamed bar area with the modern rooms annexe and restaurant. Everyone enjoyed their dinner and their stay. I cannot praise it highly enough, especially Jackie who was an absolute star, thank you for everything!

Overnight stay as we were attending a wedding. Room toilet seat was broken rooms very small. Charge £25 extra for early check in of 15 minutes!!! Went for breakfast as included in price, power cut was told wasn’t sure how long it would be but we decided to leave as we were hungry. Not given any discount for the brekkie apparently offering a bowl of cereal classes as continental breakfast!! ( no pastries fruit etc offered just cereal!) Nick told my husband the price didn’t include breakfast so when we received our invoice through brought this up and was told continental breakfast was the same price so £15 for a bowl of cereal per person is a little steep!! Needless to say won’t be staying here again or recommending it to anyone else either.

Decided to have date night dinner here one evening...NEVER AGAIN! My main course of fish, with prawns and calamari was cold, so I quietly went to the bar for this to be sorted out. 15 minutes later, whilst my partner had to finish his food before that went cold, I received my dish. NO FISH! I received a plate of re heated prawns, calamari and potatoes which I am sure is a huge health violation. When I asked where the fish was, I was told that because I had 'smooshed' (seriously....the waitresses quoted word) the fish when I tasted it, they decided to not re heat and serve it. In what planet would anyone think this was OK! When I begain to complain to the obviously very dumb waitress she suggested that I order a different dish. This is now 30 minutes after my partner had eaten. When I told her that there was no way that I was going to order anything from a disgruntled chef who considered that it was OK to re heat cold seafood and leave off the reason why they charge over £20 for the dish - the fish. The "lovely" waitress then proceeded to shout at me for 5 minutes until I had to tell her to go away. No apology, no manager to sort out the totally unprofessional behaviour, and no reduction on the bill that my partner paid so we could get the hell out. STAY AWAY! If you want a great meal with no extra salmonella and impeccable service, go to the local curry house in Bourne End for half the price.

Popped in with the family for Sunday lunch - great experience. The roast beef, pork & lamb were the best we have ever had, cooked to perfection and proper, tasty slices of meat. Only one negative is that there should be less roast potatoes and more veg. Other than that..spot on!

Stayed one night for our daughter’s birthday and had dinner (8 of us) - would absolutely recommend, the hotel room was lovely, spacious with lovely en suite bathroom. Dinner was fantastic, great food, and reasonably priced. Could not fault the service, all the staff were very polite, attentive and overall a great experience. We will definitely be going back!

The BEST sunday lunch around. I am surprised this place is not packed to the rafters! Hands down the best roast dinners (pork and beef) we have experienced in Buckinghamshire. Diners around us all agreed. The chef is amazing and it was service with a smile from our attentive waitress yesterday. A real find and we Weill definitely be back!
