Domaine de Bayeux

This is an experience. The care of the staff, the grounds, the location. They 'punch above their weight'. Enjoy. Everything is walking distance and access to the roads out of town are easy. It was perfect! If you are reluctant to buy a breakfast package, their baguettes are the best we had in France.

My wife and I had a wonderful 9-day stay at Domaine de Bayeux from August 4th to 13th. This beautifully renovated 18th-century residence is located in the heart of Bayeux, making it easy to explore the town. The family-run hotel has a warm and welcoming atmosphere. The staff was incredibly friendly, professional, and discreet, making our stay truly enjoyable. We chose this residence for its historical charm and unique character, and it exceeded our expectations. The beautiful garden and sense of history made our stay unforgettable. The breakfast was delicious, with a variety of local products. The staff was always attentive, even preparing packed breakfasts for our early departures. Mathieu, his Family and all the Staff were always extremely professional and ever-present, yet always maintained a discreet presence, consistently anticipating guests' needs. The only minor suggestion would be to install a more powerful charging station for electric vehicles. Overall, we highly recommend Domaine de Bayeux for a memorable and comfortable stay.

We loved our room at Domaine De Bayeux! We had the Utah room and it was so spacious with a great view of the courtyard and a lovely bathroom. Everything was within walking distance from the hotel- great restaurants, the cathedral, the Tapestry museum, and the train station. They also had a delightful breakfast. Highly recommend a stay at the Domaine De Bayeux!

I can't say enough wonderful things about this property! The property is the best, most relaxed/comfortable, close to everything, cutest property from our entire month in Europe. It is maybe 2 blocks from the train station, maybe 3 blocks to the main shopping street and 2 blocks to the Tapestry and the square where so many tours meet their groups each morning. Very walkable but in a quiet area in an old restored mansion. Being from Texas, and we always have air-conditioning, we opted for the new garden rooms, built behind the big manor house that you see in photos, just in case we needed air (which really we probably didn't even in August in Bayeux). They were darling and spacious. Perfect amenities. They had a balcony overlooking the orchard. So well manicured! Breakfast wasn't included but quite reasonable and was served in the manor house in lovely decorated breakfast rooms. Fresh baked goods, seasonal fruits and juices, and other local products and such a variety! Their breakfast outshone any of the chain hotel's buffet breakfasts at a fraction of the cost! We thought we might walk to town and have breakfast each day but quickly changed our minds and had breakfast at the Domaine De Bayeux every morning. You could even sit out on this beautiful lawn behind the manor house on cute little tables or lawn furniture and enjoy the morning. Perfect for afternoon coffee as well. Coffee served complimentary all day. The staff we met was the mother, and 2 sons (along with a few other amzing staff) which were so kind and made sure we saw everything Bayeux had to offer. Directions were perfect and they always made sure we had dinner reservations at the best restaurants in town (or any type of restaurant we wanted). They were so friendly and we actually were sad to tell them good-bye. If I understood correctly, they bought this property a year or so ago and are refurbishing it into the fine estate we saw. They have plans to add suites next door in a neighboring house. I believe they also own/run the Lara Hotel in town as well. The Lara is right smack dab in the middle of everything. It too is beautiful but still, I would be hard pressed to leave the Domaine De Bayeux. They were always prompt in their replies to my emails and even sent photo directions of how to get to the hotel once we arrived from the train station. If you are in Bayeux.....or anywhere close, I would highly recommend the Domaine De Bayeux!!!!!

This place is gorgeous! We had a great stay here. Perfect location: quiet but a short walk to Bayeux’s lively city center. Worth every penny!
