Property Description
Islazul Sierra Maestra Hotel is located in the very heart of Bayamo, one of the first villages founded in Cuba and declared as a National Monument. Due to its proximity to museums, this hotel is ideal for lovers of history and culture. In addition, the hotel has a very advantageous position in the eastern part of the island, since the Sierra Maestra, the headquarters of La Plata, Dos Rios and Turquino Peak are within the reach of guests and visitors. Therefore, it is a special hotel for those who love to travel in search of culture and history, next to the streets of Bayamo with a surprising natural environment.

Sadly our tour got abruptly diverted to this hotel. I have never given a 1 star review before but this place deserved it. It was dirty and poorly maintained. In our room the toilet was broken, the sink falling off the wall and room walls and floor had horrible stains. The bathroom was full of cockroaches and ants. Other rooms had mould on the walls. It was extrememly noisy at night with very loud music playing (even by Cuban standards). Most of the staff seemed tired and indifferent - only the maintenance guy who came to fix the toilet seemed to care. Avoid at all costs

This Hotel is bad since you arrive, the Hotel Reception is not friendly, they do not tell you the closing and opening hours of the services, so I lost my breakfast included in the payment, I feel cheated. In addition, the lunch is bad, the chorizo is stale and rice without salt. Beer is sold more to people on the street than to customers

Hotel with very poor quality, the attention of the staff is shameful, they are sold for money if they do not put money in their hand, they do not solve anything, they do not have a word, they are not interested in the well-being of the guests, they do not even make the effort to please or for what Less helping guests. The facility is falling apart and it is a shame because it was a very nice hotel but apart from that I point out again so that it is taken into account that the attention of its workers is shameful and embarrassing, mainly the workers at the reception who do nothing at all for trying to help customers. I hope that this review that I make at least serves to call the attention of the leaders of that facility or the highest rank of IZLA AZUL and they are called to record and at least justify the misery of salary they receive because their objective is not being met . My name is Virgen del Carmen, I am not afraid to say my name and I was staying from January 7 to 11, 2022 in cabin H, which by the way is a disaster in the bathroom, nothing is useful, the torn sheets, not counting the cleaning, they gave it to me fed up with churre and the times they went to clean they only put toilet paper and soap, cleanliness was always conspicuous by its absence.

I was at the hotel from December 28 to 30, 2022 and the cleanliness is great, it is true that there are not many offers in the restaurant but the preparation is magnificent, very rich, the workers are very friendly. Something bad is that there is no hot water in the showers. But it's a good time and it's cheap. I had a great time
