Key West Inn - Baxley

The hotel was dirty in the room. The bathroom tub was peeling. It was non smoking room but corridors and lobby reaked of smoke causing my asthma to worsen. The beds were broken and needed replacing. Unsavory persons were in and out of the building and outside making us feel unsafe

REALLY OLD HOTEL, 2 FLOORS, NO ELEVATOR. ROOMS WERE OK, VERY REASONABLE PRICES, FREINDLY, HELPFUL STAFF

Surprisingly impressed with the cleanliness of my room for an older hotel. I was skeptical about carpeted rooms in an older hotel and actually stayed at another motel the first week I was here because they had updated floors. We asked to see a room here before we rented it and after inspecting the room, we came here. The staff is friendly and housekeeping is present everyday, if needed. The hotel is quiet which is important as I am here working an outage at Hatch ( 12 hrs days, no days off). They have cameras on the property and no issues with crime, to my knowledge. They have a continental breakfast( cereal, bread, bagels, muffins, sausage biscuit, yogurt, package donuts, bananas, etc.), washer & dryer, ice machine on site. * They do allow smoking, so sometimes you can smell it when you enter the lobby but it didn't affect my room and I always bring spray/ plug ins with me when I travel. *OVERALL, A GREAT VALUE FOR THE AREA.

Need to be remodeled the entire hotel was old and decaying. Smelt of smoke and mold

I enjoyed my 2nd stay with the exception of this time around, it smelled like sewage indoors. Also I do not consider cereal to be a continental breakfast perhaps they can revisit offered options.

I don’t often review motels but this place is a dump! First room they gave us smelled wet and the TV would not turn on. Moved us to another room down the hall and it was a bit better. Beds were very uncomfortable and Breakfast was a complete joke!they would only put out a very few items. The yogurt was frozen in the middle, the cream cheese was broken and tasted like it had sand in it and there was no AC in the breakfast room. Only a fan to circulate the warm air. The entire place is old and in desperate need of updating. There seemed to be only one person on duty at any point. We’re just glad it was for only one night. We make an annual trip to Baxley for a BBQ competition but definitely wont be staying at the key west inn again.

This was a difficult property to rate. The price was excellent, it was clean, and the staff was very nice. The bed was comfortable, the fridge was cold, and everything in the room worked. I had my dog with me, and they gave me a room close to the back entrance, which was handy to a good amount of grass for walking the dog. There was quite a lot of cigarette buttts and trash at the edge of the parking lot. The motel was well back from the highway, and I never heard noise from the road, or from the Arby's in front of the property. However, the property was showing some age. My A/C struggled to keep the room at a comfortable temperature, especially in the evenings, after the motel soaked in the 94F degrees heat all afternoon. This was with the unit running full blast on the lowest setting 24 hours a day. Not much can be done about that on a weekend, and I was too settled in to change rooms, so I only mentioned it to the front desk person as I checked out. He did say that they were aware of the problem, and they had new units ready to replace the old ones as needed. The breakfast was simple. I only tried it once, but I remember 4 types of cereal, some packaged things like muffins and mini donuts, some yogurt, apple juice, milk, and coffee. The breakfast area was clean and quiet. The coffee was surprisingly decent, unlike at many other cheapish motels. So, overall, I would stay there again, as long as the rates were low enough for me to not mind the minor inconveniences.

The room door opened directly into the closet, where the ironing board was hanging. It was awkward to enter unless the door was wide open. The breakfast was simple. I only tried it once, but I remember 4 types of cereal, some packaged things like muffins and mini donuts, some yogurt, apple juice, milk, and coffee. The breakfast area was clean and quiet. The coffee was surprisingly decent, unlike at many other cheapish motels. So, overall, I would stay there again, as long as the rates were low enough and the inconveniences remained minor ones.

I was amazed by the hotel. The staff was very friendly and it was a very quick check-in. The hotel was nice and quiet and just what I needed.
