We stayed here recently on a tour of Italy. Unfortunately we seemed to have poor luck with our room- those we travelled with said they had lovely rooms however ours was small, dark (one very small window that looked out onto an alleyway, at ground level so very little light). Our bathroom was tiny, barely room for the toilet, shower and sink, and the toilet was directly in front of the sliding shower door, so it was impossible to put a bath mat down, resulting in a wet floor (and toilet!). We did ask to change rooms however we were told the hotel was full. The air conditioning worked well, and the wi-fi worked on our laptop, but not on mobile phones; it doesn’t come up with the option to log in on phones, and therefore doesn’t work. Also the plug sockets do not fit adapters, and we were unable to charge anything. We asked for an adapter at reception but even their own adapters did not fit their plug sockets. You would need to buy an Italian charger in order for it to fit in the socket. Staff were friendly and willing to help, and had varying English abilities. The rooms were mostly accessed via the courtyard which had steps to it, and then steps from there to the rooms, so this made accessing them with suitcases difficult for many on our trip. Some rooms had lift access. Food at breakfast was nice however not a massive range of variety, and the second morning there was no water available. Food in the evening was limited; we had no choice for our main, and were given white meat with the same potatoes and veg each night. The second night we were told it would be hunters chicken however it was just plain chicken on the bone. No choice for pudding either, and when we asked for something different as we didn’t like the option given, we were told only one could have ice cream. The food was particularly disappointing as it was also a restaurant and we could see far better quality food being taken out to other patrons. It also took a long time to arrive. The hotel was in a beautiful location with just a short walk to the shores of lake maggiore, which we enjoyed spending time on.
