Ducassi Rooftop Pool Suites Beach Club and Spa

The image online is not exactly where you think you will be staying, The hotel location is great , close to many activities, restaurants and walking distance to the beach, ( Flamingo bar is a place they recommend their customer to go at the beach, a $10 USD minimum is required to be allowed to lay on their lounge chairs. The hygiene in the hotel itself is horrendous, smelly room, rusty faucets and sinks and shower waters is salty, Security: there is a keyed bedroom knob at the entry door! Anyone can pry open. We both my friend and I developed a skin rash from ( what I’m guessing ) bed bugs! We were planning a 4 night stay and had to leave the second day.

We had an okay trip to DR. The “hotel” is more like apartments, and people do seem to live here actually also. The rooftop pool is so awesome, and literally the best part of the place. The room is clean, but we killed probably 4-5 cockroaches in the room. Stove was all rusty. When arriving, the door didn’t lock & we were 2 women in their early 20s who are both ＞ 130lbs. When requesting a new room, they “fixed” the door and refused to give us a new room. Scary location - we didn’t feel safe walking around at night here as women. Also, were scammed by a very nearby restaurant called “Bohio Punta Cana”. Free breakfast was awesome. No conditioner, only shampoo and “gel”? No hand soap. The shower seems to be salt water. I would honestly recommend staying on a resort if you come to DR, otherwise you might never want to come back.

After reading other reviews, I am glad that I didn’t make it to Ducassi. While in Canada and on my way to the airport, I received an email saying that my junior suite had been cancelled. Having a reservation for over a month, l phoned Ducassi to find out what was going on. The person who answered the phone was very rude and hung up on me in mid sentence. I take this as a blessing in disguise

Avoid Ducassi Suites Rooftop Pool Beach Club and Spa! If your reservation is not prepaid online they will say at check-in that the site oversold the hotel. They will refer you to the building next door to speak with another agent and make it seem as if their trying to help you. When in fact they are selling you the same room at a much higher price (for us $500 additional) and they will only accept Cash or PayPal for payment. The rooms are roach infested, dirty and the water for the shower and sink have a horrible odor. The siding door did not close even after placing the latch to secure the doors. When we informed the desk they said not to worry that the room is safe. Come to find out the very next norming there were 6 officers on our floor because another family got robbed. The office then sent someone to our room to drill the balcony sliding door shut. The HVAC unit is directly above the bed and each night the unit decided to leak ALL night. I had to sleep on the opposite side of the bed and put a towel on the bed to collect the water while I tried to sleep. The breakfast included is a joke. It's actually a few blocks away from the hotel on the beach. The menu options was ridiculous and the amount of flies were out of control making it difficult to eat in peace. Me and my whole family were constantly waving our hands over the table, food and drinks to keep the flies from landing on them. The workers saw what was going on and made no attempt to assist. We just got up and left and paid to eat elsewhere. Sol De Caribe which is across the street is the same company but under a different alias business. The keys for the units for both businesses are in one same office. They are scammers!! Avoid at all costs!

Comfortable for stay with kids. There is a private kitchen and a supermarket, so you can cook for your picky eaters. The pool has a part for kids, so they can play in water. But not a lot of shade where the pool so we were on the beach till 4pm and then went to the pool.

Where to begin! The good reviews and photos are false. The place is disgusting. Old, dirty, broken, and just like the other reviews, salty water, rude people, balcony door doesn't shut, tv stuff hanging off the wall. Just don't stay here. Told *********** but they aren't doing anything about it.
