I recently stayed at Shangri-La Golden Sands in Penang, and overall it was a pleasant experience. The location is definitely one of the highlights — it’s convenient, close to the beach, and surrounded by plenty of food and activities. The hotel itself looks nice and well-maintained, with a relaxing atmosphere that makes it great for a getaway.
However, I do feel that the service could be better. While some staff were friendly, there were moments where the service felt a bit slow or inattentive. With a few improvements in this area, the experience could be truly excellent.

Such a wonderful stay, staff is super friendly and helpfull. Room amenities and facilities is excellent, got USB charger provided and this is super helpful in the room. The room condition is excellent with all the equipment working well.
Water park is nice for a family with kids and spend time here is soo valuable with the sea is directly in front of the building.
Room special gifted is really made my day for relaxing.

This is the best hotel for kids. With pools and softplay. Close to Batu Ferringhi Beach where you can enjoy the beach and fire show there. Got massage place nearby.
Only downside which no one mentions is there is a morning pray speaker just next to the hotel which will wake you up in the morning, but the hotel will change the room for you if you request

Overall everything was good except for the check in process. It took such a long time to checking in and we had to queue up for quite long that it was not convenient for families with little children. Hope the process can be quick in the future. Thank you, the buggy service was the best part as the parking lot was bit far and it was raining too.

Just got back from a wonderful stay at Shangri-La Golden Sands Resort in Batu Ferringhi, Penang, and it was everything we hoped for — relaxing, family-friendly, and full of island charm!

Nice place to stay for me and my family. The unit was clean, comfortable, and well-kept. The pool was really good and the kids enjoyed it a lot. Overall, Shangri-La Golden Sands Penang is a pleasant and convenient place for a short getaway.
