Recommended by the people we rented the house from , and thank goodness we were , it was a lovely meal! The very old low ceilings and beams inside were as quaint as the thatched roof outside. This hundreds of years old establishment was a wee gem . When you’ve to book mid week you know it’s a good sign. I’m still thinking of the onion rings they were the best I’ve ever had.! I had a huge gammon steak with egg and pineapple usually it’s one or the other!! Husband had a steak and the portion was so big that both of us couldn’t finish ours! Tremendous!

Four of us went for a family meal the service was brilliant the food amazing the venue is in keeping with the period it was built in (low ceilings) Tracey one of the waitresses was a star 💫 We will return with more family recommend to visit for a lovely meal and attentive staff

Staying nearby in a lovely barn conversion, my wife & I decided to try the Four Horseshoes pub that was in the guide of recommended pubs in the area. As it was Friday night, booking is advisable. We arrived at 7:30 & were met by the friendly staff & shown to our table. Service was quick & efficient, plus the food (whitebait & steak & ale pie) was both plentiful & delicious. A lovely lady, Tracey came & spoke to us, asking if we had enjoyed our food, the answer was most definitely yes.. so much so, we booked in for Sunday lunch. Highly recommended.

Had Sunday lunch at the 4 Horseshoes today with my husband whilst on holiday. Best service experienced for a long time, staff work as a great team serving lunch effortlessly, in good time and so friendly too. Food was lovely,good value and choice too. Also dog friendly. Would recommend to anyone.

Met up for lunch and received a very warm welcome and great service from Tracy. She made it a fun occasion as we celebrated a birthday. Food was great and the staff were all amazingly helpful. Would recommend this pub if you’re in the area at any time

Just one night, booked directly - complementary cereals for breakfast (I think!) and a little extra for a full English, which was fine. Room and bed comfortable, it's an old timber building - so sound travels between rooms more than a modern box hotel, but it's not a rowdy pub and I slept well. Beautiful building and location, good parking, a few local footpaths for a morning stroll. All staff very personable and friendly. In the bar, Earl Soham local ale on tap was a welcome change, excellent range of spirits too.

Looking for a breakfast stop in the middle of the country side and passed by this lovely building so called in. The Four Horseshoes Thornham Magna, parts of the building apparently are 12th century and people must have been a lot shorter then as we were ushed to our breakfast table bent over (I am 6ft +) by a helpful waitress. The surroundings are beautiful and the service top gun as was the breakfast probably one of the best we have ever had, proper cooked English. The Inn is pet friendly to.

I visited on a Saturday lunchtime with my Mum and my dog. We were made very welcome and shown to a table. We ordered our drinks, and they arrived with a saucer of bones as well for my dog, complete with a welcome note. We then ordered food that arrived in good time. The meals ordered were fish and chips (the portion being very generous) and a jacket potato with prawns and salad. Both meals were lovely. The service was definitely 5 star,I would definitely recommend a visit.

A beautiful restaurant, quality food ( totally recommend mushroom and cashew nuts pie ) and our waitress Tracey was so friendly,helpful and going that extra mile to help with children x plenty friendly banter too . Place steeped in history and a chance to buy a nice painting if you want . Second time there will be coming again .
