I've stayed here before, the reason I chose it again is the price and location. Great location with a short walk and some steps down to Salamanca Place. Its a typical older hotel, you get what you pay for and so long you are not expecting 5 stars, its great! I will stay here again..

Here is the letter written to the management. We also sent a number of photos to back up the claim. Still no reply. Hi Management. My husband an I , Judith Cameron, stayed in room 17 on Saturday the 30th of March. We found many areas of concern with the standard of accommodation. The first concern was the standard of cleanliness. The toaster could not be used as there were crumbs and junk in the toaster. The floor in the bathroom was filthly. Above the bath the tile grout was mouldy. The bathroom door doesn’t click lock and I suppose that is why the rubber wedge was kindly supplied. The bottom of the toilet bowl has black stain in it which is unsightly. A bit of bleach could fix this. The wardrobe door could only be opened a short way so that it was impracticable to use. The toilet seat was that loose it twisted when you had to contort yourself to reach the toilet paper. PS Loved the way the spare toilet roll was put on the coat hanger on the door. The jug still had the previous person’s water in it. The mirror was obscured by the TV. The fridge door has mould build up in the door rubber. The draws below the luggage rack don’t open We were concerned about the wiring and the use of power boards. Our background is in motel and resort management and these are some of the problems we saw that we felt were not up to hospitality standards. Thanks for your attention and look forward to your early response……Judy IMG_3287.jpegIMG_3293.jpegIMG_3292.jpegIMG_3288.jpegIMG_3289.jpegIMG_3290.jpegIMG_3291.jpegIMG_3275.jpegIMG_3278.jpegIMG_3270.jpegIMG_3269.jpegIMG_3267.jpeg

I give this place 1 star simply for its position. Room 16 was dire. Filthy carpet, curtains. Bed was ancient with laundered sheets covering disgusting blankets. Wardrobe was unbelievably chipped and discoloured. Electrical wiring a hazard. Bathroom was old, tired and in need of major upgrade. Yes, it's cheap - $120 a night, but truthfully it's value was half that.

Directed at the condition of the room. Very poor condition and unclean. It looked like the room wasn't vacuumed or dusted for quite a while. The small fan provided was laden with dust that spewed out when it was used. The facilities were archaic. The bathroom had soap and body wash that had been open and used previously. On the positive side, the check in was well done and location was perfect for me.

I liked where the hotel was situated, beautiful Battery Point. Room was clean and tidy. Had a meal in the restaurant there, was enjoyable. Would stay here again.

Absolutely filthy disgusting room (19). Beds are incredibly uncomfortable, bathroom was filled with cracked tiles. Dirty black carpet. One towel that was supplied had human faeces on it. I came away from that experience with a bacterial eye infection. Was meant to stay 2 nights but cancelled the second night. Horrible experience. On the good side the restaurant food was too quality.

Prince of Wales at Battery Pt - great option for a Fri and Sat stay including markets. So cheap. Is walking distance to markets via lots of stairs. Clean basic ensuited hotel room with an opening window. So convenient & surrounded by upper class cafes & restaurants away from tourist *****. 1 or 2 nights. Tip: can be loud in rooms on live music night Saturday. Didn’t use hire car for 2 days.

The food was really fantastic. Room was a bit cold at this time of year but other than that it was just fine.

The Prince of Wales Hotel was perfect for our needs. It is located in the heart of some amazing eateries, gift shops, Post Office and a short walk to the famous Salamanca Market (trading on Saturdays). The staff are friendly and helpful. It is well priced for it's central location.

Convenient location. Carpet upstairs needs replacing and the cleaning crew could do a better job in the bathrooms
