Stay-n-Stay Again My husband and I were on an anniversary getaway. This hotel was really nice, clean, shower walk-in needed a bench or stool but other than that the room was wonderful. I would stay here time and time again. Oh breakfast was excellent along with the service. Everyone was friendly and polite.

Recent stay in Baton Rouge I spent several days looking at hotels in the Baton Rouge area and their ratings because I’d never been before. We chose the Renaissance Hotel because of the ratings. The hotel was clean, guest services were nice, and the restaurant staff were fantastic. I thought I’d read that the hotel had a free buffet breakfast. They do not. They have breakfast buffet for 14.99. It was a typical breakfast. Parking was free but the lot was crowded. The pool was very small. No complimentary water in your room. Everything extra was for a price.

The room was adequate in size. Most everything was clean but grout around the shower. The showerhead had poor water pressure. The bed was comfortable. I enjoyed the down pillows but my husband did not (we have different preferences). The elevators were fast. There is a huge plant blocking half the space to get to the elevators especially when others are congregating there while chatting. I saw many people move the plants leaves out of the way to avoid getting hit in the face. The staff were friendly. It would be a huge perk if you didn’t charge for internet. Even while being a bonvoy member, my room wanted to prompt me to pay and I feel we are paying more than enough in room charges to cover Internet usage.

Never Again We arrived 1 hr after check in and was told our room was not ready. We were then given a suite which had a king bed and sofa bed for 4 people. The sofa bed was dirty and could feel every spring. Went to the front desk and that was all they had available. Originally booked 2 queen beds. It took a while for a manager to arrive and approve of our cancellation. For the price they was going to charge it was not worth it. They also was going to charge me more than I originally was told to pay bc they put me in a suite bc it was all they had. Never again.

The property was in a great location and easy access to the highway. Also plenty of parking. The room and the bed was comfortable but my bedsheets had makeup stains on them and the desk didn't appear to have been whipped down.

Was there for 3 days and never had mh room cleaned. Had to track down somebody to get towels.
