The Bear

The inside of the pub & rooms are really nicely modelled, as you would find in a boutique hotel, but for a lot less £’s! The bedroom was comfy, warm & cosy. We enjoyed the digital radio & coffee machine. Great shower as well. Plus the breakfast was also delicious. We really enjoyed our stay, particularly the pleasant walk into town which takes about 25 minutes with great views.

Really can’t fault this place. We stayed 2 nights, the room was spacious and lovely decorated. I was a little concerned that it would be noisy at night as it’s above a pub and on a main road but it wasn’t I had a great night sleep. Breakfast was lovely, freshly cooked and a great choice. 15 minute walk into town downhill, uphill on the way back but you can get a cheap taxi/uber if you prefer.

Food was very good and staff friendly and attentive. The burger was very excellent as were the starters , the decor comfortable and fairly spacious. It was a little noisy as there was football and music playing in competition but as a place to eat we will be back again.

Booked The Bear to celebrate our Mum's 90th birthday. We were a party of 28. Food was lovely. Staff were very friendly and nothing was too much trouble. Even though the space was a bit cramped it didn't stop us enjoying our evening. Would definitely recommend and I will hopefully be back

We were working in Bath and the bear inn was recommended by our air bnb host . It was a busy night with a pub quiz , we were greeted by a lovely lady called Maddie she had only been there 2 weeks and was warm and friendly and very welcoming, we were shown to our table with menus and Maddie came back and took out order . The food was very quick to come to our table and was delicious I had fish and chips with curry sauce, coming from up north and living down south this was a great surprise to see it on the menu and I wasn't disappointed. The only disappointed thing was the profitaroles they were crispy instead of soft but didn't have much chocolate in them , but other than that everything was lovely. And I hope Maddie gets a permanent job she would be a great asset to the team.

Booked table for dinner - easy and effective. Very comfortable dining area, good variety on the menu, excellent food quality (including care about catering for allergies), impeccable and friendly service. Strongly recommend the chicken Kyiv.
