Sadly I had only one night in this beautiful place, but I'll be back for sure. The location is awesome, you can walk everywhere in the town. All the staff were super kind, helpful, and great. They have two pools, gorgeous views to the monastery from most of the rooms, most comfortable bed and pillow (for real, pillows are a big problem for me in hotels) I've ever had in a hotel, they have a store in reception with many different beautiful options, an area for snacks where you have from traditional Portuguese biscuits, to Portuguese wine, high quality ice cream, chocolate, and many snacks available for a very reasonable price. And oh boy, the breakfast was AMAZING! So many options, house made (you can taste the quality and the care) for all tastes (European breakfast more sweet, and American breakfast). The decoration of the hotel is exquisite. I loved to find 4 or 5 books in my bedroom to enjoy (great literature).

What a fab hotel. The breakfasts are great, everything you could want. The owner makes all the jams including unusual ones, courgette & pineapple - very nice! She also paints all the pics in the hotel & there are many art & craft decors around. We loved the shop at reception & bought all our souvenirs there. The staff are lovely. The gluten free items are very good. We had a room with a balcony overlooking the monastery which must be visited. The beaches are only half an hour by car & reception gives good advice as to where to go. Plenty of parking at hotel.

We stayed here for a couple of nights to visit Batalha en Leiria. Nice clean hotel with very comfortable beds. In spite of being short walking distance from the monastery, it was very quiet at night. Continental breakfast is quite adequate - very fresh. The cook did us soft-boiled eggs on request.

A very comfortable hotel, excellent facilities, excellent breakfast and the staff went to extreme lengths to please. The receptionist even booked a parking space for us in Leiria for a concert we attended, which went a long way to make the our evening.

This is truly a beautiful boutique hotel. I really liked how it was decorated. I also like the fact that inside the hotel, there was a small area where you can purchase locally made goods and that they had an honesty bar where you could buy items for consumption. The hotel itself isn’t a very good location, walking distance to the monastery, restaurants, and shops. We were in room 503 which overlooked the monastery and I have to say it was a truly a beautiful site. We definitely took advantage of the balcony where we sat for a while, admiring the sunset and the monastery at night. The breakfast, had quite a few options, they also made fresh scrambled eggs and pancakes. I had the pancakes and they were fluffy, slightly sweet and very good. So far, this has been one of the nicest hotels that we have stayed at during our travels. I would strongly recommend this hotel.

Family of 3. We spent 3 weeks in Portugal and stayed in 5 hotels. Stayed in some great places, but this was not one of them. We arrived at every one of our hotels at approx. the same time, around 1:30-2pm. This was the only one that turned us away and required us to return after 3pm, despite there being no activity in our room (it was visible from the check-in desk). This was mid-week in October and the hotel had very little traffic. They were clearly being deliberately rigid with their policies. On entering our room later that afternoon, we immediately noted the terrible smell and the small size. We reserved the Triple with Balcony and it felt tiny. Smallest room of our entire vacation by far. We couldn't wait to put away our things and exit the room. Later that evening we went for a swim. The water was warm, but misty. It was our only swim, despite a prolonged stay and a fondness of swimming. When we attempted to take a shower that evening, we realized that the shower head height adjustment was broken. The "double bed" consisted of two single beds pushed together with linens tucked individually, so it was really just sleeping in a single bed that was next to your spouse's single bed. We've vacationed in Europe many times and realize this can happen, but we hadn't encountered it in over a decade. Breakfast the next morning was incredibly disappointing. It was basically a selection of dry breads and spreads, rubbery pancakes, and poorly prepared eggs. The best part were the spreads, but alas, one cannot sustain themselves on spreads alone. The butter had dark grey streaks in it. The coffee came out of a machine and tasted of hot cocoa. We tried a few times and every attempt tasted of hot cocoa with a touch of espresso. When asked, the attendant stated that it was just the way the machine worked and we could get coffee from the honor bar. We did, we paid for a poor espresso (cappuccinos aren't available from the honor bar). We only had 1 breakfast here and chose to eat elsewhere for the remainder of our stay. Speaking of the honor bar, you had better turn in your ticket immediately when picking up your desired item(s) lest you get the stink eye. They've got their eyes on you to make sure you don't run off with that 1 euro coffee. And here's the best part..they ended up overcharging us for our honor bar items. We only noticed after we arrived home. Wasn't worth fussing over as it was just 1 euro, but it was a humorous irony. Based on the reviews, we were expecting a stellar stay. It appears options are limited in Batalha. We loved Batalha and this region generally, but next time we go we'll likely opt for one of the privately run places.

We stayed here four nights and it was really nice. We had a cute balcony with our room and we could open the door to let morning and evening refreshing air in. Plus a sunset view of the monastery. It was very clean with modern accommodations. The pool area was very nice and relaxing. The breakfast is a basic selection, but fresh and certainly adequate to start the day. Some great morning pastries available as well. The best part was the reception staff and hotel owners. They were so attentive and sincerely wanted our stay to be special. And it was!!!

Stayed here for two nights when travelling through Portugal. Beautiful, quirky family run hotel. Lovely friendly staff, arts and crafts hotel, so really individual and attention to detail everywhere you look. Comfortable, spotlessly clean room, with doors opening onto a small patio area. Delicious breakfasts, centrally located, would definitely recommend
