Azul Paradise Resort

We had booked Azul Paradise over a year ago but due to unforeseen problems at the center, it was completely inoperable and unable to host us. Chelsea, the facilitator at Azul Paradise, was able to relocate my group; however, her lack of preparedness and unprofessionalism made a challenging situation even worse. My group was relocated twice over the course of our six-day retreat. The first property-Playa Tortuga Hotel- was dirty, lacked fresh water, had visible mold, stained sheets, spiders in the room, and felt deserted and unsafe. On the first night, my group arrived on two separate flights. Chelsea from Azul Paradise assured me that the first group was “happy and enjoying margaritas on the deck.” However, when I arrived later with the second group, I learned that the guests were actually sitting outside because they felt unsafe returning to their rooms. One woman even said she ran down the hallway because it felt too unsafe to walk alone. The following day, as we waited in the lobby for the rain to clear before transferring to the next property, we were told we’d visit Starfish Beach and that the chef would accompany us with fresh fruit, non-alcoholic drinks, water, and a light lunch. Instead, we were handed sandwiches in a tote bag—no fruit, no drinks, and no water for a 3+ hour boat ride. When I asked Chelsea to confirm there was water on board, she replied that “there’s water at the next retreat center.” When I explained that we needed water while on the boat since we would be on it for over 3 hours, she became irritated that she would have to “run to the store” to get it. She kept saying the 'safety' was first for the boat ride but honestly, the water was calm and it was only slightly raining. I was able to convince her that we would rather be on the boat then hang out in a deserted hotel lobby. We were able to leave after 90 minutes. When it came time to transfer to the second property, chaos continued. Chelsea attempted to load the luggage first—before the retreat guests. I had to insist that our guests should be transported first and that the bags could follow. We had been promised two vans for the group but were instead provided one van and Chelsea’s personal rental Jeep. One of my older male participants was forced to squat on the floor of the van for the ride, while two others had to ride in her Jeep. As we were riding in her Jeep towards the property, she saw someone on the road and yelled out the window, 'hey biiittch' to whomever was on the bicycle. While this was playful for her, it was mortifying for me as a professional business owner representing a group of people who paid thousands to be on a retreat with me. Upon arrival at the second property—while more beautiful overall—the scene was disorganized and stressful. Chelsea, despite having been there the week before with another group, did not know the room layout or which rooms corresponded to which room numbers on my spreadsheet. I made our Reservation in February for Early July. I paid for our trip in full the day I made the reservation. 5-night stay...not exactly cheap. June 21st, they sent me an email cancelling our trip. I cannot reach anyone at the resort. In the initial email they offered to reschedule - but that is absurd when they cancelled on us. Read the other reviews where exactly the same thing has happened to others. DO NOT BOOK A STAY HERE!

Stay far, far away. We had our reservations canceled two weeks before we were supposed to arrive. For context, our reservations were made nearly a year in advance. We reached out multiple times as we got closer to our scheduled stay and heard from no one. To boot, they are not refunding our money. Again, stay very far away...

WARNING: Do NOT book with Azul Paradise. Complete confusion upon arrival. We paid in full (a very high amount) only to be told on arrival that our reservation couldn't be honoured. The local staff, who were kind and apologetic, accommodated us—but only out of goodwill, as they hadn't been paid by the U.S.-based company. They did their best but it was not at all what was advertised. The company is clearly facing serious internal issues. Avoid the risk—book elsewhere.

Attentive, Professional, Kind, and ON IT! Those are just some of the few qualities that I was presented with from the staff at A.P. My buddy and me traveled there from CA for my 43rd birthday and when I tell ya they treated us with such care. If you want true RnR - Great food - Tasty drinks - and OUSTANDING SERVICE and STAFF - Azul Paradise is where it's at. I've already booked my next trip to the most AMAZING property and location. Thank you ALL at Azul Paradise, a true experience that I will forever remember Shoutout to Chelsea and Lisa for guiding me through the entire prosses from start to finish. I recommend getting an all-inclusive package... totally worth it. See you all soon!

We had a wonderful time at Azul, it was truly the stay above the ocean that you’ve heard or dreamed of. They waited on hand and foot, food was great, cocktails were good, and trip were super easy to organize. Giordano was, in particular, amazing - made us feel very welcome and at home.
