First off, the reception and bar area looks very nice and I'm guessing has been renovated quite recently. There is a small business type hot-desk and although the reception/bar/seating area is quite compact it is nicely decorated and looks modern. The reception staff were not great, I checked in and my colleague came in 2 minutes later and wasn't given any info about the breakfast area and neither of us were told where the rooms were, we had to ask them. After I asked for a room change, I was asked if I had already checked in and paid despite me giving them my room key and dealing with the same person who checked me in 30 minutes earlier. Once out of the reception area, the corridors and rooms were very different to the reception area. They looked like they hadn't been renovated in years and were very tired. The room gave a feeling of a care home with a very small room with the bathroom stuck in a corner. My original room (135) had a bad smell in there and the noise from the traffic outside was very loud, simple double glazing would solve this but it didn't have it hence the reason for me to ask for a room swap. My new room (236) was on the same wing but didn't face the road so was quieter but the floorboards were very creaky. My colleague was in 136 and said she heard every movement I made which could have been embarrassing haha. The breakfast was very nice and the morning staff were very good. Would I stay here again? Maybe if nothing else was available close by, but it really didn't justify the price I payed and I would have to think long and hard about staying here.

Must be the worst Holiday Inn ever stayed at, not on par with the rest of the chain and an embarrassment to Holiday Inn. How they can call this a 4* hotel I will never know, it’s definitely no better than a 2* and that is being polite. Sorry but overall stay was not good, staff unhelpful with the booking mess up. Stayed at the hotel for one night and was allocated a twin room with single beds. Explained to the reception staff that it was incorrect as should have been double room which was paid for via the booking. I was informed that it was not possible to swap as all the rooms were pre-allocated prior to arrival. Not very helpful when it was the hotel mistake. Then they explained they could not rectify until all hotel guests had checked in and the remaining rooms if not taken by midnight, then I could possibly swap. Explained seriously not waiting till midnight for the slight possibility. The Booking reservation manageress came out to back up the reception staff and showed she had not one once of customer service and never actually apologised. She was very rude. I was informed that there was no chance of a refund if I wanted to cancel. I was informed as I had arrived and registered my car which confirms check in. On arrival at my room it was very outdated and could do with a refurbishment. The bathroom was old looking with a shower/bath. Television was large size and had Freeview channels. Had a kettle with free tea bags, coffee, biscuits etc. The air conditioning unit was faulty in the room as did not seem to work properly, possibly so old and never been serviced. There is a restaurant and bar area for guests. The actual bar closed around 21:15pm. It did not even stay open for the full football match that guests were watching. Strange when apparently the hotel is full that you would not have a restaurant fully active or a bar that stays open longer. Very poor planning by the hotel management. The breakfast is a good selection choice of hot & cold food. The hotel bar area & chill out sofa seating area is modern including the breakfast area. Only thing modern. There is free internet at the hotel is. There is hotel car parking which is free for guests as long as you register your car at reception. Shame there were no EV charging points available at the hotel. Overall stay and service received was not good.

Stayed via a legoland trip with caledonian travel. Booked a 3 bed room was greated with a dirty, safety hazard. A double bed in extreme disrepair, material off at the sides, stains all over it. The lights at the side of the bed was broken, the bathroom was dirty and we had a small camp bed held together with cable ties no mattresses or sheets. Spoke to duty manager who after alot of complaining arranged an alternative. The alternative was a put up bed that was broken and a flat mattress, with springs coming through and stains all over. The room was gastly with a horrible smell, dirty and very outdated. My son ended up of the floor as apparently there was no rooms left and no other alternatives. The evening meal was extremely lacking in choice for the coach trip and was with undercooked or extreme overcooked but did come with dirty plates. The noise outside from the car pack at 3.30am in the morning was ridiculous and resulted in no sleep for 2 of us. This was meant to be a family birthday weekend making memories and ended up a complete nightmare.

Absolutely cannot give this place more than 1 star came today on a lego land holiday and the bed is covered in what appears to be human exrement real litteral poo and im not the only one to complain im afraid as other people on the trip have had to have the matresses replaced. All we were offered were a sheet to cover it up. The single bed was held together with cable ties again disgusting mattress. Needless to say we didnt sleep at all and sat in the chairs all night as the managment refused to move us due to lack of rooms. It is also so outdated in the rooms department it reminds me of a butlins trip mold everywhere even on the lamp stands . Came down for the buffet and it is all either undercooked or over cooked with not alot of options for any children who are autistic so be prewarned. If i were any one i would avoid this place at all costs and go to the Farnborough one its a million miles apart from this establishment. Managment just dont seem to care at all. Which is a shame as it has the potential to be a nice little spot.

We have stayed here several times as we organise an annual event nearby. Recently refurbished reception, bar and lounge areas, but bedrooms still in need of a bit of a refresh. Service was faster than in the past. Good breakfast as usual, but for some inexplicable reason, there was a TV (on silent, but with subtitles) broadcasting right-wing GB News... a pity.

The hotel services are out standing especially Zakia and Aljandro are amazing hosts at restaurant. Would recommand to everyone to enjoy meal and good stay. The rooms are fine abd overall satisfied stay here. Basingstoke a good place for photos.

I want to make a review about an employee in this hotel named ZAKIA i really had a pleasure dining at holiday inn and i want to commend zakia for her exceptional service at the order counter. From the moment i approached the counter, zakia greeted me with a warm and genuine smile. She was incredibly patient and attentive as i place my order, ensuring that all my preferences and request were accurately noted. My order was processed quickly and efficiently despite of busy shift. She got a positive and helpful attitude. Zakia went above and beyond to make sure i felt valued as a costumer. Food is delicious and on time

The bathroom was filthy, there were bulbs missing and hair on the floor. Part used toilet rolls, black grout around the shower. So many items on the menu were out of stock and we were told there was 24 hours room service but when we returned after our night out we were told there was not! Stayed in so many Holiday Inns over the years but after this experience very unlikely I ever will again!
