"We can hear the train across but it wont affect much on my sleeping quality so it is fine. There is many tram can reach the train station and the cities so it is quite convenient.
The temperature of the showering water is extremely hot or cold, causing bad experience"

"Bed was very uncomfortable. It's a folding Murphy's bed. Never seen this in a hotel.
It was not so clearly visible while making the booking that hotel parking will cost extra CHF25 per night.
All together there was no great financial benefit in selecting this hotel.
I will not like to use this again."

"Although the hotel is a bit far from the city center, it’s very close to a tram stop, and you can reach the center in about 10 minutes. The hotel also provides a travel card, so you don’t need to pay for transportation. It was clean and comfortable, with a modern design. I received a level of service that exceeded my expectations."

"Really good location right next to the SBB train station and the tram stations right outside. The rooms are also cool. I also received a free ticket for local transport, which I was very happy about. I had to wait a bit for breakfast because all the seats were taken, which is rather unusual, but it was a very nice stay and I slept very well."

"The best location you can find near the Basel train station. This hotel shares the same reception lobby as the Metropolitan Hotel, so you'd need to walk a long way from reception to the back of the kitchen to the lift that goes up to your room. The room is tiny with our two big luggages and we couldn't open them fully."

"Hotel at very convenient location, providing easy access to different means of public transport. Both the public areas and rooms of the hotel are clean and brightly lit. The room is very spacious indeed, and the water in the tub is strong and hot enough.
The breakfast was on the whole good, except that there's some recurrent confusion in the order of omelettes because of seemingly poor coordination in the manpower and order-taking arrangements. Hope that could be improved."

"Great location. About 10-15mins walk from the main train station. The air circulation in the room wasn’t that good. It was rather stuffy making it hard to sleep at night. Tried adjusting the thermostat but it didn’t work. The bathroom is clean however the water heater couldn’t work properly and it was 7 degrees outside. 😓"

We had an excellent stay at Gaia Hotel Basel. The hotel's commitment to sustainability was impressive and evident in every detail. Our room was comfortable, well-equipped, and beautifully designed, with thoughtful eco-friendly touches.
We loved the delicious breakfast with organic and locally sourced options, and the convenient location near the train station made exploring Basel easy. The staff were friendly, attentive, and always willing to help.
Gaia Hotel Basel perfectly combines comfort, sustainability, and great service. We highly recommend it and would happily stay again on our next visit to Basel!

GGuest UserWe took our kids to Basel for two days. We took bus 50 from the airport and transferred to bus 30 at Basel SBB to get to the hotel. Bus 30 is right outside the hotel, and bus 14 is a short turn away to get to the city center. Bus 30 transfers to bus 8 to get to the Tri-Border Bridge. The hotel offers a Basel card. The hotel is very new, but I had a room on the street side, and every time a car passed by, it was very noisy when I was sleeping at night. But the facilities and beds were very new and clean. The breakfast was not as rich as other reviews wrote. I think if it is not Sunday, I can choose not to have breakfast in the hotel and eat outside.

GGuest UserI made a reservation through Trip.com for 1 night (2 days), but upon arrival the hotel informed me that it was booked as 2 nights (3 days), which would result in additional charges. Later, the hotel told me they would correct it to 1 night (2 days) and that no extra charges would be applied. They also took my card for deposit purposes but assured me that no payment would be made.
However, on July 14th, I was charged twice: CHF 30 and CHF 46.8. Could you please clarify why these charges were made and arrange for a refund if they were charged in error?

SStevendingBreakfast is on the eighth floor. The hotel is a five-minute walk from the train station. There are three hotels in one building, all owned by the same owner with different names. Bring all your own toiletries and slippers, and there is a kettle.

AAnna801Basel is very small, just a 15-minute walk from the city center. This hotel is located on the edge of the city center, making it especially convenient for walking and public transportation. There is a beautiful lady at the front desk, gentle and polite. The room size is probably okay in Europe. Although the facilities are not new, they are very clean. There are capsule coffee in the room and the toiletries are provided by L'Occitane. The hotel is across the road from the Rhine, and there is a street behind the hotel similar to the bustling weekend market.

IINDIGO6This is a recently renovated hostel with a modern design that stands out among the hostels I've stayed at.
However, since it's completely self-service, the check-in process is difficult. I thought I could just ask a staff member, but no one was there, so it was difficult.
I was able to check in by phone, but it seemed difficult at first glance. From morning to evening (around 6pm?), the staff at the restaurant attached to the hostel are available to help and store luggage, but they are only there to help, so they cannot confirm reservations.
The entrance is from a courtyard-like area opposite the street, so it was difficult to find.
It was a dormitory, but there were bath towels and soap in the shower room, and it was overall clean and I was satisfied with my stay.
