Barry Island

Booked a three night stay, to visit Barry and do the Gavin Stacey tour. Staff all very friendly, brewers fayre next door, about a 15 minute flat walk to Barry Island. Only issues with the hotel was soundproofing seemed a bit non existent, the noise of the people in floor above walking around was very loud and could hear any little noise from other rooms or the hallway, and the air con seemed to sometimes turn itself on in the night for no obvious reason.

Frequently book this hotel in preference to others in the area. Great parking and friendly staff, and never had any issues with cleanliness. The air con is great and the location is ideal if you're doing the Gavin & Stacey thing, or want to be close to Penarth or Cardiff. The train station is less than a mile away, and Barry Island 'seaside' is a half mile walk. The restaurant next door (Brewers Fayre) is pretty bog standard, but there are other places to eat in the area. Prices vary wildly but we have often had very reasonably priced stays here, and you always know what you are getting with Premier Inn.

Not great for sleeping due to noise floorboards above. View outside room was like a building site. Had to ring the bell a lot during the day for service. Once he arrived he was miserable. Place needs updating too. Glad only stayed one night. Wouldn’t return.

Excellent room. Its was clean, comfortable and quiet. Excellent air conditioning. It was 32°c outside and lovely and cool in the room.

Check in was quick and easy. My room contained everything required plus was clean and tidy. Breakfast in the Brewer's Fayre restaurant was delicious and there was a fantastic selection to choose from. I'll definitely return here in the future.

we chose this hotel because our daughter loves gavin and stacey and this is placed perfectly for all sights and locations.Half an hour drive to Cardiff and the coastal villages are lovely.Clean quiet hotel pleasant staff and theres a brewers fayre next door which is handy
