OYO Imperial Hotel

We were on town visiting family and just wanted a cheap hotel with breakfast for 2 nights, we arrived on Friday aware of the refurbishment going on the exterior is covered by scaffolding at the moment so we actually drove past at first, on entering reception a very friendly guy checked us in and gave us our key explaining that all the rooms were finished and other work was going on our room was lovely spacious and clean with a comfy bed, breakfast was very good, full cooked English and good selection of cereal and pastries, added bonus the was open despite the website stating different, we will definitely stay again, very good value

Room was well presented and the bed was very comfy. The main hall carpets were in a poor state but I assume this is as they will be the last thing to be replaced. Breakfast was nice with a good range. The staff were really helpful and friendly. I can confirm that there are fire extinguishers dotted about the place. Not the nicest I have ever seen but definitely not the worst and I am very sure that they would have been effective at dealing with an incident or to be used as a weapon. Can't say the same for the much vaulted WiFi which would be both a terrible firefighting appliance or self defence tool.

Really good hotel undergoing refurbishment but excellent quality safe parking and really friendly staff and excellent rooms fantastic breakfast on great position in center of town excellent facility’s I would recommend this hotel as a base

We mistakenly booked a single room instead of a double at this hotel. The OYO website was unclear, and their customer service was horrendous. They refused to offer a refund and provided incorrect information over the phone. However, when I called the hotel directly, Emily at the front desk was incredibly helpful. Despite being fully booked and unable to change our booking, she escalated the matter and resolved it quickly and efficiently. While I wouldn’t rebook this hotel to avoid similar stress, I hope Emily always finds the cold side of her pillow on a hot night.

The good Refurbished rooms are immaculately clean Staff are delightful Hairdryer in the room is really good Plenty of decent sized towels available in the room The OK Breakfast was fine with a good selection The bad Thick, winter weight, synthetic duvet on the bed in July No ventilation in the room and it was super hot Window couldn’t be opened because of noise from outside he seagulls and nesting pigeons outside En suite was badly refurbished. Gap between the shower and wash hand basin that couldn’t be cleaned. New shower head support in the shower cubicle looked good but was so cheap and flimsy that it was already broken Double bed was positioned up against a wall - ok for single occupancy but not for double occupancy Communal areas are still to be refurbed. The carpets are so filthy they could turn your stomach No signage outside and entire facade obscured by scaffolding No restaurant and guests are signposted to the sister restaurant who refused my request for a single occupancy table (even though there were plenty of tables available) Even for business bookings, they insist on taking a card imprint Cheap teabags at breakfast. Only instant coffee available

Stayed here for 1 night. Rooms were good. Bed was comfy. Tea and coffee facilities in room. All the staff were extremely helpful. Breakfast was very nice. And lots of choice from hot full English to cerial Would recommend
