I decided to visit The Fox earlier this week and what a terrible mistake that was… I cannot even begin to explain how rude and uninterested the man at the bar was, from what I overheard he was the owner I can tell you right now he shouldn’t be! I tried asking about the selection of ales to which he ignored what I’d asked and pointed at the bar girl to serve me. I then tried asking about the history of the pub and he simply walked away. Now to move onto a more serious subject… the hygiene. This place should be shut down! I was utterly appalled when I walked past the kitchen (there is a big window so you can see right in) and one of their chefs was stood there scratching at his face and then stuck his finger up his nose and proceeded to put it in his mouth before his hand went straight back into the food! TOTALLY FOUL. I can say right now I didn’t take another bite of the mediocre, bland and overpriced food I was served. My husband and I abruptly left, we decided to go through the back of the pub so we could at least see the garden which I cannot deny is lovely but to my horror on our way out my husband pointed into their restaurant area at a mouse… I don’t know if they are aware they have mice or not but please for your own safety DO NOT EAT HERE!!!

What an absolute gem of a place. We stayed on the 16th of October & were made to feel extremely welcome. A thoughtful call in the evening to let us know what time the kitchen stopped serving, as we were arriving late. The staff were all extremely friendly & equally helpful. After a long day travelling a lovely coffee was made especially & it was the nicest coffee I have ever had. In fact I've contacted The Fox to request the brand! The room we stayed in was large and beautiful. We didnt want to leave. We will certainly be back!

Went on the off chance for Sunday Lunch with the family. To be honest everything was more than great, such a friendly welcoming atmosphere and the food incredible!! Not something I ever thought I'd say, but the best chips I have ever had (must be quadruple cooked) and the pastry on the home made pie - so full of flavour. My son had the Roast and it was superb beef and a Yorkshire the size of his head, with a gravy that I could happily drink :-) I can't thank you enough for a really superb experience.

The hotel is in a great location for exploring the Cotswolds. It is family-run and the staff are very responsive to your needs. Dinner and (the included) breakfast are excellent. The room was comfortable and, although on the road side, not noisy.

First time in the Cotswolds so we wanted accommodation that was conveniently placed. While not in one of the famous villages, The Fox is easy to get to and provides comfort and peace at a reasonable price. A good breakfast is included and the food at dinner was excellent - especially the home-made pie of the day.

We went for Sunday lunch as we were staying in the area with my parents for a long weekend. The pub its self is beautiful proper old school chunky wooden tables and chairs with a wood burner in the restaurant and a cosy decor, the beer garden looked delightful with a steam running along its side but alas it was running. Three of us had the rare roast beef which came with all trimmings and it was honestly the best roast beef Sunday lunch I’ve had which hasn’t been home cooked and for £22 it was a bargain because it was top quality. The staff are friendly, courtesy and very helpful. If your in the area please pop in and enjoy their fantastic service and food and drink you won’t be disappointed.
