The room was basic but comfortable. I booked the hotel for one night (basically for a couple of hours) as I arrived around 9pm and had to be up for 345am for a flight so only needed a bed and shower.
I arrived and went to the restaurant the food was extremely bland and very overpriced.
When I went up to the room around 11pm I went to have a shower but unfortunately it only worked on cold and the hot water didn’t work at all. So I ended up having a freezing shower. It was too late to change rooms so I reported it when I woke up to the man at the desk who said sorry but offered nothing and so I asked if there would be any compensation seeing as the room was expensive and the shower didn’t work.
He offered me 40% discount which I thought was fair, seeing as half of the reason for staying didn’t work. He said because I booked through Trip, it would be more complex but that he would make a note in the system. So I spoke to TrIp the next day and they contacted the hotel who said when they contacted the hotel they only said they would offer me a 20% discount. So the receptionist I spoke to lied to my face and for this I’m marking down service to one star as I can’t prove what was said to me and I find it very disappointing they would be so underhand and should try and value their customers more as 20% discount is not representative of a non working shower at an overnight stay.
