Travelodge Barnsley

I awoke in the morning to discover that the sheets on the bed had been washed but displayed brown stain residue. Had someone been sick previous after a good night out, had a stoma burst or had somebody defecated in the bed? I will never know but to have slept in unclean sheets was not nice.

Stayed here last night the Travel Lodge had obviously just been refitted and was clean and tidy. However when we pulled up in the carpark there was carrier bags of food hanging out of a ground floor window. There were very dodgy looking people outside smoking. However when we got inside Poppy was very welcoming. The room was clean and fresh looking although the 2 hard back chairs seemed odd stuck in the middle of the room felt like there was furniture that had been stolen. Only one towel so my husband went down into reception and there were 2 people sat in reception doing shots Later when we came down to wait for our taxi they were still sat in reception drinking. Poppy was saying they should not speak to female guests like that ( I didn’t witnesses what he said) she was really professional however the man kept going on and on at Poppy so much I felt the need to tell him to shut up not speak to her like that. I felt so sorry for her and it was hard to get in our taxi and leave her When we came home there were 3 dodgy looking people outside the main entrance. Had I not been with my husband I would have felt scared and intimidated. I understand everyone needs a bed to sleep in but you cannot mix these people who still have a habit with paying customers who are often coming to a town they don’t know This morning the outside was full of spit on the floor I know Poppy was getting the help of her boss but you should not be putting your poor staff in these positions

For £37+ per room excellent stay. Room's quite and clean..No problem parking. Poppy receptionist excellent

My husband and I have stayed in the Travelodge in Barnsley several times over the past few weeks as we made the move back to the area after living in France for ten years. The entire team in this hotel are kind, welcoming, friendly and efficent, nothing is too much trouble. The rooms are well-maintained and absolutely immaculate; the hotel has easy access, and given it's location is surprisingly quiet.

I arrived at short notice, a walk in. Staff were very helpful and lovely people, especially Poppy and Becky. Poppy especially went above and beyond to help. Room was great, high standards throughout and a bed so comfortable I want one at home. Highly recommended to anyone who needs to stay in Barnsley.

I have been staying for quite a few weeks and the staff were amazing they made me and my little frenchie dog very welcome on every occasion so friendly helpful and I felt safe. The rooms were very clean and comfortable . Well taken care of all the time
